Congratulations to Brock Road ES, Lee Hill ES, and Wilderness ES for earning Virginia Purple Star Awards for the 2022-2023 school year! These schools join Spotswood ES, which currently holds a Purple Star designation. This is the second time Wilderness ES has earned this distinction.

On October 10, 2022, the School Board voted to extend Fall Break to include Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22. This means students and staff will have the entire week of November 21-25 off, and will return to class on Monday, November 28.
Because of the added Student/Teacher holiday, this means that the number of Inclement Weather Days will be reduced by two. Days 1-7 will not be made up.
Blue Bell Ice Cream came by to congratulate 2023 VA Teacher of the Year Ms. Fabiana Parker and surprise her with four of her favorite flavors of ice cream! They also gave free ice cream away to every student and staff member at lunch. Thank you Blue Bell!

Hearing and vision screenings are underway for kindergarten, 3rd, 7th, and 10th grade students, as well as any students new to the county regardless of grade. SCPS conducts hearing and vision screenings per Code of Virginia. If parents wish to opt out they should contact their child's school nurse.
