Forbes America's Best Employers By State Logo

For a second year in a row Spotsylvania County Public Schools (SCPS) has been recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best-In-State Employers. Forbes Business Magazine partnered with Statista, a market research company, for the Forbes third annual ranking of America’s best employers by state. This year, Spotsylvania County Public Schools was one of only 90 employers in Virginia to receive this distinction. Additionally, only nine of the 132 Virginia public school divisions earned this distinction in the Forbes ranking.

The Forbes America’s Best Employers rankings were based on anonymous surveys of 80,000 Americans working for businesses/organizations across 25 industry sectors with at least 500 employees and were conducted on a rolling basis from October 2020 to June 2021. These survey results were compiled and divided into 51 rankings, one for each of the country’s 50 states, plus the District of Columbia. The results reflect direct recommendations from employees as well as indirect recommendations from workers in these industries. The survey evaluated the employees’ experience, which included working conditions, salary, potential for growth, and diversity in the workplace.

SCPS offers many opportunities for professional growth through division-wide training and best practices. In addition, we encourage collaboration for our teachers through professional learning communities, mentee/mentor programs, and more.
