IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Under the Impact Aid Program (Title VIII of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act), each locality is compensated for federally connected children who impact a school district’s financial base because of military bases, federal installations or federal activity within and surrounding their locality.
Due to the large federal and military presence in Virginia, Spotsylvania County Schools loses a portion of operating revenues that would normally be generated through the collection of local taxes.
By completing the Impact Aid form (see link below to download form), you will enable Spotsylvania County Public Schools to receive revenue assistance for each student whose parent(s) are on active duty military service (not retired) or employed on federal property. Sections 1 and 4 must be completed for each child in your household that attends Spotsylvania County schools.
If you are a member of the military service, please complete Section 2. If you are employed by a department of the federal government or a private contractor and work on federal property in the state of Virginia, please complete Section 3.
Please make sure that you sign and date Section 4. The information should be current as of October 4, 2024. Please return the completed form to your child’s school by October 25, 2024.
