The School Board joined together in a 7-0 vote to pass Superintendent Mark Taylor’s proposed 2024 budget as well as three new policies.

Approval follows school board meetings on  February 13th and 15th led by Chairwoman Lisa Phelps.

The proposal now heads to the Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors to set the tax rate to fund this new budget.

• An asset protection policy which bans school division employees from profiting scrap metal and other refuse. All proceeds will now go back into the budget to fund school operations.

• A telework policy to assist in recruiting administrative staff across the division.
