Destiny Discover

Destiny Discover is an online library catalog that allows users to search for books, eBooks, and other materials.  To view a library account, patrons log in with their SCPS network login.  Once logged in to Destiny Discover, patrons may view their library account, place holds, check out eBooks, and utilize online resources.  If you need assistance, please contact your school librarian.

SORA

SORA allows anyone with an SCPS Gmail account to read eBooks, magazines, or listen to audiobooks on a device. To access SORA, click h SORA or use the SORA icon found in your Google Waffle. Users can add the public library (Central Rappahannock) by clicking the settings icon on the right and choosing "add library." 

SORA allows patrons to take notes, highlight text, and create bookmarks that sync across devices. Checkouts automatically return at the end of the loan period, or users can return items early. SORA is available 24/7, 365 days a year. Patrons are responsible for visiting SORA to check their holds.

PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next (Elementary Resource)

PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next are award-winning databases for PreK-3 and grades 3-5 for reading and research. The PebbleGo databases make learning and improving reading and research skills fun, building on children’s interest. 

At home access requires a password. Contact your elementary school librarian for access information.

World Book Online

World Book Online is available for all SCPS learners. This subscription resource includes encyclopedias for kindergarten learners through middle school.  World Book Online offers encyclopedia articles, timelines, interactive games, videos, images, magazine articles, newspaper articles, and primary resources.  A Spanish version and a translation option for articles in various languages are available.

At home use requires a school specific password. Contact your school librarian for the password.

Noodle Tools (Middle and High School Resource)

Noodle Tools is a powerful research platform that patrons can use to cite sources, create online notecards, generate outlines, and build project reference pages.

To log in, students use their SCPS Google account.

Gale Databases

Gale Databases offer SCPS students cross-curricular content aligned to national and state curriculum standards and reinforce the developmental critical thinking, problem- of skills such solving, communication, collaboration, creativity, and innovation. These databases empower learning and build research skills with access to periodicals, reference materials, primary sources, simulations, images, videos, and audio selections, including archival film clips, broadcast videos, BBC News, New York Times videos, and NPR.

Log in to Destiny Discover to access school specific databases. At home use requires a password for access. Contact your school librarian for school specific questions.
