Spotsy Online: 100% Virtual Accelerated Learning Opportunity

The Spotsy Online 100% Virtual Accelerated Learning Opportunity is for current SCPS 8th - 12th grade students who are interested in accelerated coursework for high school credit.  These are NEW courses that are taken for the first time in a compacted time frame.  Students will have approximately 18 weeks to complete the year-long course during the semester.

This is an intense program and students need to be highly motivated in order to be successful. Students can expect to spend an average of 2-6 hours per day, every day, including weekends, in order to stay on track to complete the full year’s coursework in the 18-week time frame.  Students must have reliable internet connection and a device to access and complete the online coursework.

Pacing for Courses

Courses are asynchronous – which means they are self-paced.  Once enrolled, students can refer to their Student Dashboard and see the Enrollment Details page to keep track of activity due dates. This page can be found by clicking on the dash or percentage under ‘Grade to Date’.

Who is your Teacher?

The teacher will be an SCPS licensed teacher. The teacher will be responsible for supporting coursework completion, answer questions, grade assignments and communicate weekly.

Assignments

Students will complete a variety of assignments within the Edgenuity platform.  Please support students in understanding how to complete and submit assignments correctly.

Grading

Since students are enrolled in Edgenuity, grades are only reported at the end of the course.  Which means they will only be available in ParentVUE/StudentVUE at the completion of the semester.  Please see the Edgenuity Student Dashboard for up-to-date progress and grade information.  It is the Relative Grade to Date that will be transcribed on the official students transcript.
