This opportunity is available to enrolled 8th–12th grade students interested in taking a new high school credit course.

Learning for NEW Courses
Registration will OPEN and information will be shared with 9-12 grade students and parents on November 12, 2025. Registration will CLOSE on December 3, 2025 at 4:00PM.
Spotsylvania County Public Schools now offers a 100% virtual option for students who are successful in the classroom and are looking to accelerate or expand their learning in addition to their day-to-day coursework. This option is currently available to enrolled 8th-12th grade students looking to take a new credit course for high school credit.
Students can ONLY register for NEW courses and may not register for repeat courses through this 100% virtual learning experience. Coursework in these virtual courses is completed outside of the school day.

Virtual Accelerated Learning Opportunity
The Academic Awards Ceremony will be held Tuesday, November 18th, at 6pm, in the MHS Auditorium. Students will be recognized for having a GPA above a 3.5, being an AP Scholar, earning a perfect SOL score, nominated as an Outstanding Student by a teacher, and/or for their performance on the PSATs. All awards are based on performance during the 2024/25 school year. Students that will be receiving an award have been mailed an invitation. We look forward to celebrating these accomplishment with you.

If so, please email our GT Coordinator, Mr. Burner, to obtain information about an opportunity called HOBY. If you are chosen to attend, you will go to James Madison University and represent MHS from May 29 – 31, 2026. We will even pay for you to go!
