The MHS School Counselors are excited to invite you to our Senior Parent Bootcamp on Wednesday, September 16, at 6:00 PM, in the Auditorium at Massaponax High School!
Our goal for this event is to provide parents and guardians with important information about the college application process and share helpful strategies for keeping your college-bound student on track throughout senior year.
During the Bootcamp, we will discuss important steps, deadlines, and resources to help you and your student navigate the college application process.

Our 5th Annual Change Makers Challenge starts September 1st, and ends September 30th, 2026. Previously called Penny Wars, this is our school-wide, grade-level competition where each class tries to raise the most funds for the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation. Donations will be accepted before school and during Pride Time in room 207, during all lunches in Commons A and can also be made through the SchoolCash Online portal.
The winning grade level's assistant principal will be pied during the fall pep rally, and Dr. Lancaster has agreed to be pied once again this year should we reach our goal of at least $400 between all grade-levels! Make sure to follow the Ponax FBLA instagram account for updates throughout the challenge and to learn more about pediatric cancer initiatives by ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation.
Massaponax DECA is collecting non-perishable food items through September 11th, to help support families in our community.
We would love your help in making this year’s food drive a success!
We ask that you fill a bag with 8-10 non-perishable items. You can return the bag anytime before September 11th.
Some suggested items include:
Canned vegetables and fruit
Canned soups
Pasta and pasta sauce
Peanut butter
Cereal
Macaroni & cheese
Rice and other non-perishable foods
Every can and every donation makes a difference!
Faculty and staff can donate items by sending them with students or dropping them off at Room 129.
Our goal is 1200lbs of food collected–which will provide 1400 meals for our community.

SAT School Day (Oct 27, 2026): $42.00 for enrolled SCPS 11th–12th graders only and Homeschoolers.

Homeschool Students- Stop by MHS Counseling Office to pick up the Homeschool Registration Form and return it with cash/check payable to "MHS" to Ms. Taylor.

Homeschool Students- Submit requests directly to College Board SSD by Aug 30th
Homeschool families are responsible for transportation to and from MHS on test day. Practice materials are available on College Board's Bluebook app.
Student vendor applications are being accepted for the 3rd Annual Fall Student Market held right here at MHS. This year's event is on Saturday, September 19, 2026, and is open to any student between the ages of 5-20 years old, regardless of where they attend school. If you make, bake, grow, or create a product or service this is the place where you can start turning those hobbies and passions into a business. And if you already have a business, this is a chance to share it with the community.
Applications can be picked up from Ms. White in room 207. There is a small application fee of $15 to help cover event expenses and that can be paid by cash, check or cc through SchoolCash online.
The Debate Team and Club will meet in the Library each Wednesday after school from 2:30 till 4:15. All students interested in debate are welcome to attend. Please see Mr. Donald in room 142 with any questions.

MHS FBLA wants to help your student start the new school year off on an encouraging and positive note. We will be taking orders for our Back-to-School Care Packages. Each care package will include some basic school supplies like pencils, plug-in earbuds & large erasers, in addition to a snack, sweet treats, a couple surprise items, and an encouraging note! The funds our chapter receives from the sales will go towards helping offset our competition costs in the 26/27 SY. These will be delivered during Pride Time on August 27 & 28th, 2026, to one of your student's teachers. We know students have early release/late arrival and may change locations during Pride Time. The First Day of School is quickly approaching! The first day for 9th graders only will be on Monday, August 10th, 2026. The first day of school for ALL Massaponax High School students will be on Tuesday, August 11th, 2026. Our teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare for a fantastic 2026-2027 school year. We can't wait to see you here at school!
Future seniors of the class of 2027: It's already time to take your senior pictures! The first sessions will be June 18th & June 22nd. Go to Victor O'Neill Studios to schedule your session today! Remember, all yearbook photos MUST be taken by Victor O'Neill Studios either this summer or in the fall, and yearbook-only sessions are free. Thursday, May 21st: begins promptly at 8 am.
Parking opens at 6:30 am, and you must have an MHS Graduation Parking Tag to park in the MHS lot (a handicapped tag does not gain entry)! Each graduate's family will receive one parking pass due to limited parking availability.
Parking for non-tagged cars will be at Lifepoint Church on Rt. 1., and a shuttle will run from the church to MHS.
Stadium gates are open at 7:00 am.
Every guest (babies, infants/children in laps, and guests in wheelchairs included) must have a Graduation Ticket to gain entry to the stadium for the ceremony.
If you leave the stadium for any reason, you will not be permitted to re-enter.
Massaponax High School follows a strict no-bag policy
Backpacks, large purses, duffel bags, and similar items are prohibited
Small clutches and medically necessary or diaper bags are permitted but subject to inspection
All guests will pass through Evolv security screening
No balloons (they block other guest's view of the ceremony)
Since this is an outdoor event and the forecast currently looks unsettled, we encourage families to plan ahead.
Graduation will continue in light rain
Umbrellas are not permitted inside the stadium (because it impacts others ability to see)
Guests are encouraged to bring disposable rain ponchos
Ponchos have already been purchased for all graduates
If weather impacts the ceremony, the currently scheduled rain date is Saturday at 8:00 AM; however, depending on the forecast and conditions, this schedule could be adjusted. Any decisions regarding delays, schedule changes, or cancellations will be made by the Central Office in coordination with all five high schools.

This year every student device will be collected before summer break. The only exceptions are students taking Spotsy Online or Virtual Virginia classes over the summer. We will start device collection on May 26 and May 27. Please bring your devices and chargers to school those days for collection. Senior device collection will happen on May 14 and May 15. Please remove all stickers, with the exception of the barcode, from your device prior to collection!

How You Can Help: Please consider donating items from the list below. Every single contribution helps us build a complete bag for a child!
Suggested (but not limited to) items
Outdoor Play: Sidewalk chalk, bubbles, jump ropes, frisbees, or reusable water bottles.
Creativity: Coloring books, crayons, markers, stickers, or small craft kits.
Brain Power: Reading books, card games, travel-sized board games, or puzzles.
Summer Essentials: Sunscreen (new), sunglasses, or fun beach towels.
Drop-Off Location: A collection box will be set up in the Counseling Office. You can drop off your donations anytime between now and May 22nd.
