Thursday, May 21st: begins promptly at 8 am.
Parking opens at 6:30 am, and you must have an MHS Graduation Parking Tag to park in the MHS lot (a handicapped tag does not gain entry)! Each graduate's family will receive one parking pass due to limited parking availability.
Parking for non-tagged cars will be at Lifepoint Church on Rt. 1., and a shuttle will run from the church to MHS.
Stadium gates are open at 7:00 am.
Every guest (babies, infants/children in laps, and guests in wheelchairs included) must have a Graduation Ticket to gain entry to the stadium for the ceremony.
If you leave the stadium for any reason, you will not be permitted to re-enter.
Massaponax High School follows a strict no-bag policy
Backpacks, large purses, duffel bags, and similar items are prohibited
Small clutches and medically necessary or diaper bags are permitted but subject to inspection
All guests will pass through Evolv security screening
No balloons (they block other guest's view of the ceremony)
Since this is an outdoor event and the forecast currently looks unsettled, we encourage families to plan ahead.
Graduation will continue in light rain
Umbrellas are not permitted inside the stadium (because it impacts others ability to see)
Guests are encouraged to bring disposable rain ponchos
Ponchos have already been purchased for all graduates
If weather impacts the ceremony, the currently scheduled rain date is Saturday at 8:00 AM; however, depending on the forecast and conditions, this schedule could be adjusted. Any decisions regarding delays, schedule changes, or cancellations will be made by the Central Office in coordination with all five high schools.

This year every student device will be collected before summer break. The only exceptions are students taking Spotsy Online or Virtual Virginia classes over the summer. We will start device collection on May 26 and May 27. Please bring your devices and chargers to school those days for collection. Senior device collection will happen on May 14 and May 15. Please remove all stickers, with the exception of the barcode, from your device prior to collection!

How You Can Help: Please consider donating items from the list below. Every single contribution helps us build a complete bag for a child!

Outdoor Play: Sidewalk chalk, bubbles, jump ropes, frisbees, or reusable water bottles.
Creativity: Coloring books, crayons, markers, stickers, or small craft kits.

Summer Essentials: Sunscreen (new), sunglasses, or fun beach towels.
Drop-Off Location: A collection box will be set up in the Counseling Office. You can drop off your donations anytime between now and May 22nd.

MHS tenth graders are finishing up their research projects and getting ready to present their findings at our MHS Multicultural Research Fair. English 10 classes will be in the library sharing their newfound knowledge about world cultures, traditions, and various countries during their scheduled class block from Tuesday 4/28- Friday 5/1. Each student will be prepared to answer audience questions about their research and some are even preparing food, festive dress, and other visual displays to accompany their work. Mrs. Herrin's and Mrs. Carrico's students will present on Tuesday 4/28 (A) and Wednesday 4/29 (B) and Mr. Murphy's and Ms. Cotton's classes will present on 4/30 (A) and 5/1 (B).
Families are encouraged to attend. Please check in at the front office with a proper ID per division policies.
Cheer Conditioning begins Thursday April 23rd, and will be every every Tuesday and Thursday until May 7th. Meet us in the Aux gym from 6pm to 8pm.

Prom tickets are $50 and can only be purchased on A Day lunches using cash or card. All debt must be cleared and students must be in good standing.
General Information about Summer 26 Spotsy Online:
Spotsy Online 100% Virtual Accelerated Learning, SCPS Teachers will facilitate courses through Edgenuity.
Testing will occur during Summer School testing.
Registration will OPEN and information will be shared with 8-11 grade students and parents on Monday, April 13, 2026. Registration will CLOSE on Friday, May 6, 2026 at 4:00PM.
Counselors will serve as the the responsible party for:
-Approving or denying the enrollment request
-Counselor needs to communicate with the registrar that they need to enroll the student in summer school and add the “H” course they will be taking
Students will be permitted to take only one course during this session. Students wishing to take a second accelerated course will need to discuss options with their counselor and the Supervisor of Instructional Programs. This window for Spotsy Online is too small to accommodate 2 classes.

All seniors and their families are invited to attend. Seniors who will be recognized during the ceremony will receive notification by mail by the first week of May.
Panther Productions-Film Club is excited to present the Spring Fling Film Thing on **Friday, April 17**. In partnership with FCCLA, we invite you to enjoy a film screening of "Gidget", a 1960s classic beach film about a fun-loving teenager discovering friendship, surfing, and summer adventure. Along with the movie, guests can enjoy concessions, raffle prizes, and baked goods for sale. Bring your friends and family to come support two great student organizations for a fun evening you will not want to miss! Showtime is at 5pm, in the Growl Plex theater here at MHS.
The 2026 SCPS Summer School will provide students a credit recovery course with teacher led instruction. Courses taken through this program will be considered repeat courses. Students may register for one credit recovery/repeat course for the summer. There is one session for the 2026 Summer School program.
The 2026 SCPS Summer School will be held at Riverbend High School from June 8 - June 25. Classes meet Monday-Thursday, from 8:30am - 2:30pm.
Registration begins April 1, 2026 and concludes June 4, 2026.
