
This is an inclement weather update. All Spotsylvania County Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Thursday, December 15. Schools will open two hours late. 12-month employees and essential employees are to report to work on time as safety permits. All other employees will report two hours late.

Congrats to Isbelle Cruz/Jazmin Archila and Molly Buckingham for the honorable mention recognition for the Holiday Fashion Design Contest. The top 36 designs for the all county contest on December 8th at the Salem Library competed. The Public will be allowed to vote for the favorite through out the month. Be sure to stop by and cast your vote.

Attention Seniors, there will be a Courtland movie night at Paragon Theaters this Friday night (December 2nd). Seniors can go see a movie and tickets will only be $9 if you show valid student identification at guest services. Arrive about 30 minutes before your scheduled movie time because processing the discount will take longer. Wear a Courtland shirt to show your senior spirit. Seniors, this is not a school sponsored event but it is an exciting opportunity that your Senior Board organized for you.

Homecoming Spirit Updates:
Seniors are currently in the lead for participating in spirit days with 68 points, Freshmen are on their heels with 61 points. Students please remind your teachers to submit the google form to get credit for participating in our Spirit Days.
Money wars is going on during all lunches this week also. Sophomores are in the lead and have donated $29.23, followed by the Seniors with $26.75. In total we have collected $76.51. All money collected will go to buy Christmas gifts for children in need. So bring in your loose change and dollar bills to help families in need and earn some spirit points for your grade level.
Today is the last day to get ticket codes. Please have your debt slip sign before coming upstairs to get a code to buy your ticket on Ticket Spicket. You must have turned in a debt slip and be on the official list to be able to get into the dance on Saturday, even if you have somehow bought a ticket already. If you are not on our list, then you will not get in. Guest forms should have already been turned into be able to bring a guest from another school. If we don't have an approved form for a guest they will not be allowed into the dance. We look forward to seeing you all Saturday night.

On October 10, 2022, the School Board voted to extend Fall Break to include Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22. This means students and staff will have the entire week of November 21-25 off, and will return to class on Monday, November 28.
Because of the added Student/Teacher holiday, this means that the number of Inclement Weather Days will be reduced by two. Days 1-7 will not be made up.

If you missed your picture in August, Thursday, October 13 is your last chance to take them and be included in the yearbook! Freshmen will go down at 8am, Sophomores and 9am and Juniors at 10 am. Teachers can go during their planning or before school starting at 7am. The photographer will be here until 12pm.

Congratulation to the Golf Team on finishing Regional Runner-Ups and advancing to the State Tournament! The team shot a 307 on day 2 to secure the bid! Congratulations to Jack Hayden, Lucas Ogden, Ethan Hughes, Landon Perdue, Kellan Perdue & Karsten Ellia & Good Luck at the State Tournament!

Head over to Longhorn Steakhouse Southpoint this Saturday, September 24th between 9am and 1pm for a car wash to help our CHS Choir make it to Universal Studios this January!

16 exchange students from Spain will be visiting Courtland from September 16-29. If you're interested in hosting one of these students, stop by Mrs. Prudencio's room (113) for more information about this exciting opportunity to share American life & culture with a new friend from Spain.
