Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are so excited for Field Day on March 26th, 2026! To make this day a huge success for our students, we need your help and attention to some very important upcoming deadlines.
Field Day packets were distributed to teachers and should arrive home in your child's Thursday Folder on January 8th. Please keep a close eye out for these! Many forms will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Key Dates & Deadlines
Please note that we are unable to extend these timelines, so be sure to mark your calendars:
Volunteer Forms Due: January 30, 2026
Inflatable Release Form Due: February 27, 2026
Shirt Store Closes: March 12, 2026
Field Day: March 26, 2026

Important Volunteer Information
To ensure student safety and a coordinated event, please be aware of the following:
First Come, First Served: Volunteer slots are limited and will be filled in the order that forms are received. Turn yours in early!
Participation: This year, we are only accepting registered volunteers for Field Day. If you would like to participate in the festivities with your child, you must sign up as a volunteer using the volunteer form that was sent home in their packet.

INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTICE - Spotsylvania County Public Schools will open two hours late Monday, December 15. 2025. No AM ECSE preschool classes, PM classes will begin on time. 12-month employees and essential employees report to work on time. All other employees report two hours late.

Everyone did so well in the school spelling bee yesterday. We are extremely proud of all the kiddos.
A big congratulations to:
1st Place Winner: Courcy Empie — Ms. Doss' class
2nd Place Winner: Azariah Lewis — Ms. Rose's class
These two students will proudly represent Spotsylvania Elementary School at the Division Level Spelling Bee on January 10th, 2026.

Rover is coming! We can't wait to celebrate our students with perfect attendance for the month of November! On December 2nd, these students will be treated to a special trip to the Rover truck to pick out a free book, as well receive several other holiday surprises!

Students who attend school regularly—meaning they are not chronically absent (missing fewer than 10% of school days)—are much more likely to achieve proficiency on state reading and math assessments, often performing at double the rate of their chronically absent peers.
