Shout out to Trinity Schaefer for being awarded the Superintendent Award for her exquisite color pencil drawing of a gift bow. She is the third POMs student in a row to win the honor starting a winning streak! She will be recognized tonight at the school board meeting along with the FBLA for being a Gold Chapter and our school for being earning a Purple Star Award, making our school a supportive place for military families. It's a great day to be a POST OAK PATRIOT!

Post Oak Middle's Future Business Leaders of America Chapter has been named a Gold Seal Chapter by the National FBLA. To be named as a gold seal chapter, you have to be in the top 15 percent of the chapters in the country. We are so proud of the accomplishments and hard work done by our group to earn this distinction.

It is with great pleasure that I inform you that the Virginia Council on the Educational Opportunity for Military Children voted on October 21, 2024, to approve Post Oak Middle School as a recipient of the SY 2024-2025 Purple Star Award. Way to go POMS staff for making our school a welcoming and supportive place, especially for our military connected students.
Hello Post Oak 6th Grade Families,
Just a reminder that the 6th Grade ONLY dance is happening THIS FRIDAY, September 27th after school. Students will stay after school for the dance and will need to be picked up at 4:30 PM.
Dance tickets are being sold through Wednesday, September 25th. The cost of the dance ticket is $5.00. Students must also have a permission slip to attend the dance. The permission slip is attached to this email. Both the permission slip and money must be received at the same time.
All 6th grade students are welcome to attend; however, students who receive ISS, OSS, or bus suspension before Friday become ineligible to attend the dance.

POMS club information will be presented to students this week. Ask your student what they are interested in joining! Football tryouts also begin this week on Monday, August 26th.
There will be no girls soccer practice on Monday, August 19. Girls will go home after school.
We hope everyone's official first day was as great as it looked! There were lots of smiles at POMS today, including our new Superintendent Dr. Mitchell's. He loved the new wrap on our steps!
POMS Families, Please be advised that all students wanting to participate in a sport for the 2024 - 2025 school year must have a completed VHSL Physical Form on file dated after May 1, 2024 before they will be allowed to try out. Students are also required to have the 2024 - 2025 Student-Athlete Health, Safety, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Concussion Training completed prior to trying out as well.
