WELCOME TO THE LAST MONTH OF SCHOOL-
We have made it to May and LHES is busy preparing for our end of the year events and celebrations! Thank you to all of the parents, staff, and volunteers who made Teacher Appreciation Week special for our staff. Your kindness and support is uplifting to Lion Nation. Also, remember to get your yearbook while supplies last! They cost $20 and students must bring exact cash to purchase one. Get them now before they run out! Please see the attached calendar of events for SOLs and End of Year Celebrations.May Events
WE NEED YOUR HELP TO TAKE CARE OF SCHOOL GROUNDS-
The weather is warmer and many activities are taking place after school. We are seeking our community’s help with taking care of our school grounds. We are a community school and we know that many people access our playground when sports practices are going on after school. Please help us by keeping all of the gates closed to our fencing. Also, refrain from going behind the modular unit and fitness trail/primary playground area. It is okay to use the upper playground, but the gates need to stay closed, trash must be picked up, and equipment should be respected. We have fundraisers to raise money for our playground equipment and we want to be sure it is taken care of and not vandalized. Children must be accompanied by adults after hours. No loitering is allowed after sunset.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR-
To register your student for school please:
1. Go to https://www.spotsylvania.k12.va.us/
2. Click Student Registration tab
3. Scroll to ParentVue Online Portal
4. Create an account; Complete the registration for 2026-2027.
When finished, hit Submit.
**An email with further instructions/documents needed will be sent to you
once you have successfully completed the registration**
Once you have all the documents in the email please call and schedule an in person appointment to complete registration!
Parents who have students enrolled in the current year and want to enroll their KG for next school year - if they haven't completed the 2025-26 New School Year Packet for this year first, they will be prompted to do so before they can enroll their student for the 26-27 year.
**Students must have a signed updated physical within
8/11/25-8/10/26 before they can start school**

¡Ya estamos en mayo y LHES está ocupada preparándose para los eventos y celebraciones de fin de año! Gracias a todos los padres, personal y voluntarios que hicieron que la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros fuera especial para nuestro personal. Su amabilidad y apoyo son un gran estímulo para la comunidad de Lion Nation. Además, ¡recuerden comprar su anuario antes de que se agoten! Cuesta $20 y los estudiantes deben traer el importe exacto en efectivo para comprarlo. ¡Consíganlo ahora antes de que se acaben! NECESITAMOS TU AYUDA PARA EL MANTENIMIENTO DE LAS INSTALACIONES ESCOLARES.
El clima es más cálido y se realizan muchas actividades después de clases. Solicitamos la ayuda de nuestra comunidad para el cuidado de las instalaciones escolares. Somos una escuela comunitaria y sabemos que muchas personas acceden a nuestro patio de recreo durante las prácticas deportivas. Les pedimos su colaboración manteniendo cerradas las puertas de la cerca. Asimismo, les rogamos que no accedan a la zona detrás de la unidad modular ni al sendero de ejercicios/área de juegos principal. Se puede usar el patio superior, pero las puertas deben permanecer cerradas, la basura debe recogerse y el equipo debe cuidarse. Realizamos eventos para recaudar fondos para el equipo del patio de recreo y queremos asegurarnos de que se mantenga en buen estado y no se dañe. Los niños deben estar acompañados por un adulto fuera del horario escolar. No se permite merodear después del atardecer.
