On Thursday September 29th members of the John J Wright Educational and Cultural Center's Alternative Highschool Program attended the Germanna Workforce Center in Fredericksburg. Students were given a tour of the facility and the programs they have to offer.
The purpose of the trip was to expose students to various careers and opportunities that are available to them. Students learned about HVAC, Welding, Heavy Equipment Operation, and Asphalt Manufacturing.
One student is quoted as saying that he "didn't realize the amount of money that can be made in the various trades", while another student now wants to be a heavy equipment operator.
Special thanks to Ms. Catherine Brown and Ms. Tina Lance for Making it all happen!
