Our school board has generously approved Friday, March 10th as a day off for all teachers, students, and staff. Enjoy the time with family, friends or however you wish and have fun!

You are invited to the annual SMS Spaghetti Dinner night after the home basketball game on Thursday, February 2nd. If you are there to pick up your child, come and stay for dinner. We are serving salad, fresh bread, spaghetti and cookies all provided from the PTO. Treat your whole crew for $2 per person, $10 max per family. Forms are located in the main office and attached to the Sunday emails. We hope to see you there.

This is an inclement weather update. All Spotsylvania County Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Thursday, December 15. Schools will open two hours late. 12-month employees and essential employees are to report to work on time as safety permits. All other employees will report two hours late.

Effective October 24, 2022, in an effort to provide an enhanced and more secure service for our transfer students, all records requests for our former students must be made online using our new student record request system, K12 Transfer, by Scribbles Software. Official records requests submitted by fax, phone and email will no longer be accepted. Go to Go to https://transfer.scriborder.com/ to get started (step-by-step instructions can be found on the SMS counseling page).
On October 10, 2022, the School Board voted to extend Fall Break to include Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22. This means students and staff will have the entire week of November 21-25 off, and will return to class on Monday, November 28.
Because of the added Student/Teacher holiday, this means that the number of Inclement Weather Days will be reduced by two. Days 1-7 will not be made up.
Due to a scheduling error with the officials, the football game for Thursday, October 6th has been canceled. We do not, as of yet, have a makeup date. Any students that were planning to stay for the game should go home at dismissal. Football practice has also been canceled.
We're hosting a FREE clothing and food event on Friday, 9/30 from 5-7 PM! Fredericksburg Area Regional Food Bank will be there with food donations. Moss Free Clinic & Extra Community Resources will also be available. See more: www.spotsylvania.k12.va.us/article/835136
Football tryouts are extended an additional day through Thursday, September 1st due to extreme weather conditions limiting tryout time.

Come meet Mr. Workman, the new principal of Spotsylvania Middle School, while supporting your PTO and enjoying some ice cream. STUDENT SCHEDULES UPLOAD TONIGHT 08.05.2022
Student schedules are being posted for viewing in StudentVUE/ParentVUE this evening. If you would like to make a request for a schedule change, please use the link from the QR Code.
Changes from one elective course to another elective course will be considered, but will be difficult depending on the number of students in the requested elective course.
The counselors at SMS are busy with final preparations for the beginning of the school year. Therefore, schedule change requests will not be taken via email, phone calls, or in person prior to Business Day/Parent Connection Day sessions on August 10. The only way a request will be considered is by completing the electronic form or by submitting an in-person request during Business Day.
Please also keep in mind that student schedules are still subject to change. We look forward to seeing all of you real soon.
