School Lunch

Due to a recent increase in questions, here are some reminders about school breakfast and lunch programs at Spotsylvania Middle School this year.

  • Lunch and breakfast is not free for SMS students this school year. The state-funded COVID food program is no longer in effect for our school.

  • Some students may be eligible for free/reduced breakfast and lunch. If you have not done so, complete the Free/Reduced Meal Application Form and turn it into the main office or Food Services. You can also visit MySchoolApps to apply for the Free & Reduced Meal benefits online! Please visit the SCPS Food Services website for more information.

  • You can review your student's account balance and transactions through My School Bucks. Additionally, you can view current balances, receive low balance email alerts, add money to your student's account and set up automatic payments.

  • If you send a check with your student to add to his/her lunch account, make checks payable to Spotsylvania County Food Service or Spotsylvania Middle School Café. Please include your student's name and ID number on the check.

  • Students who do not have money on account or in hand to cover the cost of a reimbursable meal at the time of service WILL be permitted to charge. Only reimbursable meals (a full meal) may be charged, not individual items. Students are NOT permitted to charge a la carte food items such as chips, juice, water bottles, extra items, etc.). Parents/Guardians are expected to pay unpaid meal charges.

  • All a la carte items are extra costs. Please see the price list.

  • Breakfast is $1.55 and Lunch is $2.65. Reduced prices are $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch.

  • School Breakfast and Lunch Menus can be found here.
