Our goal is for every student to have safe, reliable transportation to and from school each day. In order to do that, students must follow all behavioral and safety expectations.
Please remind your child about following the rules and expectations on the bus.
- No food or drinks on the bus
- Pick up all trash in your area
- No yelling or screaming (Use appropriate voice levels)
- Stay in seat (back to back/seat to seat)
- Immediately follow all directions given by the driver
- Cell phone use is prohibited unless permitted by the driver
- Keep hands and feet to yourself
- Keep language and conversations school appropriate
All students and parents are encouraged to smile and thank our bus drivers every ride to and from school. We want the reputation of our students and community to be extremely bus driver friendly, so that the best drivers are requesting to drive for SMS and not the other way around. This is especially important when bus drivers are being asked to cover routes for SMS when we have driver absences.
Bus transportation is a privilege, not a right. If a student is not acting appropriately or following expectations, they will be suspended or removed from the bus. The Student Code of Conduct is in effect on the school bus. Thank you for your help in providing a safe travelling experience for our students to and from school.
