In a meeting held today between the 5 high schools and the Central Office, SCPS has decided to move Graduation from Saturday at 8 am to Sunday at 5:30 pm due to the weather that is forecasted to be in the area. Gates will open at 4:30. We encourage spectators to bring a towel to dry their immediate area should precipitation continue to linger in the area.
Students should report to SHS at 4:30 on Sunday to prepare for graduation at 5:30. Please park in the front lot and enter the building through the main entrance.

Guess who made a special visit to Spotsylvania High School? It's none other than Michael Huntley, Fredericksburg native and Spotsy High School graduate, and winner of Season 24 of NBC's The Voice! Michael stopped by to perform and share insights with students at our Tri-M award ceremony. A big thank you to Michael for inspiring us and for his generosity in giving back to his alma mater. Your visit was truly special!

SOL Schedule!
Below you will find the SOL schedule for the upcoming testing period.

Attention All SHS Students interested in going to Prom. To be eligible to attend this year's Prom, you MUST be a Student in Good Standing. That means you cannot have more than 4 absences or 10 tardies this 9 weeks. If you have more than that, you will need to talk to your administrator about staying after school to recover the time you need. Attendance Recovery Sessions are T/W/Th from 2:30-4 starting tomorrow. You need to attend 2 recovery sessions to recover 1 absence. You can recover 2 tardies by attending 1 recovery session.

Our Disco Knights Dance will take place this Friday, March 1st, from 7:30-9:30! Tickets are only $5.00 (cash or check only) and will be on sale during lunch shifts through Thursday, February 29th. Guest forms are available in the main office (due by Wednesday 2/28). Students must be in good standing to attend. Appeals may be submitted to administration.

Attention Rising Knights
If you are an 8th grader who will be attending Spotsylvania High School next year, SHS will be holding their Rising Freshman Night on Wednesday, January 31st from 5:30 to 7:30. Come out and see what being a Knight at SHS will be all about. We hope to see you there!
Unfortunately, because of the forecasted bad weather and the announced 2-hour delay for tomorrow, the NHS blood drive is canceled. As of now, it hasn’t been rescheduled, but we will let you know if it will. We do appreciate all of you for signing up to donate and hope you will do so again in the future. Be safe.
SHS ANNUAL FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP
All parents and students who are graduating in 2024 are invited to attend Spotsy High's Annual Financial Aid Workshop this Thursday, December 14th at 6:00 PM in the downstairs computer lab. Valuable information will be shared regarding financial aid, student loans, and scholarships. Some students MAY be eligible for $7,395 in grant money from the federal government that does not have to be repaid in addition to state, local, and institutional money that is gift aid (grants.) The 2024-25 FAFSA application needs to be completed by your school(s) priority filing deadline to be considered for the federal, state, and institution money. Please be sure to pick up your flyer from your Government teacher with all the information outlined. Registration is not required. Tomorrow, Thursday, November 2nd, is our Underclassmen awards from 8-9 a.m. in the school auditorium. Students receiving an award received an invitation during their first block on Tuesday, October 24th. Parents, please do not enter the building until 7:45 to allow us to get our students into their classes.
