Hello Post Oak Families,

This past week, our teachers and staff returned to the building and what a great week of planning it has been. Our teachers have prepared their classrooms as well as their opening week of lessons to assure our students feel welcome and ready for the new year. A few items to note moving toward our open house and first day of classes.

* Open house is Monday, August 8th from 9:00 – 11:00 am or 5:00 to 7:00 pm. You can come visit anytime between those hours, you need not arrive promptly at 9:00 or 5:00. During this time, you can meet your teachers, obtain your schedule, walk your schedule, purchase a PE uniform, and ask questions. We are looking forward to seeing you.

* Individual student schedules are available on ParentVue. If you are having difficulties, we will have printed schedules at open house for students. We can also address any log in issues at that time as well.

* The first day of school is on Wednesday, August 10th. Bus routes and times are also available on ParentVue. If you are driving your child, please use the Parks and Rec. door for drop off. Doors open at 7:20 am.

* Again this year, Post Oak students will be provided breakfast and lunch at no charge. Free breakfast and lunch is for ALL students.

* As noted by Interim Superintendent, Mr. Guempel, “we continue to work hard to fill remaining vacancies and to ensure we will have a licensed educator in every classroom”. Here at Post Oak, we still have two vacant teaching positions, math and science. Our goal is to find qualified people to fill these positions. As a result, some of our class sizes have increased. We would rather have students being taught by trained and licensed personnel in slightly larger classes rather than the alternatives. We continue to search to fill these positions but also feel good about our current plan for instruction. This has created some challenges to schedules, so we ask that you please be patient if schedules need corrections and/or changes.

* Finally, we are very excited about the start of another school year. You will see some new faces and some familiar faces around the school. Please take time to say hello, provide a warm welcome or welcome back, and continue the Patriot Pride for which our school is known!
