We are excited to remind students and families of some upcoming tasks and events as we get closer to the end of the school year. Please see below for some important dates. Please feel free to call the POMS Main Office at 540-582-7517 with questions.
Device Check and Collection
SCPS is requesting that only students in 8th and 12th grades turn in Chromebooks at the end of the school year. If you do not plan to enroll your student(s) at Post Oak Middle School for the upcoming 2023-24 school year (any grade), we ask that you also please turn in your devices. Device return will take place on May 16, 2023 at Post Oak Middle School for 8th grade students and any student not returning to Post Oak Middle School.
All students who are not in 8th or 12th grade should keep their devices over the summer break. Students may use devices over the summer for school-related work and activities. Please store these devices safely in preparation for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. If your student is returning to Post Oak Middle School for the 2023-24 school year but you would like for the school to keep the device over the summer, please have your student return the device on May 16, 2023.
Any student who does not return (8th) or cannot present his/her computer and charger (6th and 7th) will be placed on the debt list and the parent will be informed.
Awards Assemblies
Post Oak Middle School Awards Assemblies are being held the last two days of school.
The 7th Grade Awards Assembly will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 8:30 AM in the POMS Auditorium.
The 6th Grade Awards Assembly will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 8:30 AM in the POMS Auditorium.
The 8th grade Awards Assembly will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the POMS Auditorium.
Please mark your calendars for these events. Families will receive an individual message if students are receiving an award at their grade level assembly.
Last Two Days of School
May 22, 2023 and May 23, 2023 are the last two days of the 2022-23 school year. These days are full days of school for students. Post Oak Middle School has planned Awards Assemblies and outdoor Field Days (weather permitting) for each grade level during the last two days of school.
