Principal's Message
NRMS Community,
It's time to launch the 2023-2024 school year! Our staff couldn't be more excited to welcome our students tomorrow at Open House. As a reminder, we are offering two sessions, please only attend one session. The first session will be held from 1:00pm - 3:00pm, and the second session will be from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. The first hour of each session is for 6th graders ONLY, and the second hour of each session will be for our 7th and 8th graders. Please have access to your child's schedule through ParentVue/StudentVue, so you know where to report for 1st block. Your child's homeroom is the first block class. If needed hard copies of your child's schedule will be available in homeroom. During both sessions, our school store will be open to purchase spirit wear, and our PE Department will have uniforms for sale. PE uniforms continue to be optional.
To help maintain updated communication, a weekly Falcon Flier will be emailed, typically on Sundays. Included in it will be important topics, upcoming events, and resources. We certainly appreciate you taking the time to read through the important information. Additionally, our school website has been updated and is a great place to go if you have any questions.
As we prepare to open the doors for another school year, please take note of the following important information.
- Please be sure to check your child’s bus stop information, which has been posted in ParentVUE. If you have any questions, please contact the transportation hotline at 540-582-5125 option 5, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. We asked that your students arrive at the bus stop 10 minutes prior to the pickup time. Please be patient during the first weeks of school as there may be delays. Delays may occur for a number of reasons…students are learning which bus to get on at the school and we are double checking rosters before beginning the afternoon bus run to ensure all students are on the correct bus. Ultimately, your child’s safety is our priority.
- To help expedite our parent drop off and pick up process, we will continue with our procedures from last year. NRMS staff will be parking on the cafeteria side (to the right when facing the building) and the back row of the gym side. Early parent drop off begins at 7:35am utilizing the front loop. Additionally, we will have the gym side (to the left when facing the building) available for vehicles that may need a little extra time unloading (ie. school materials/instruments in the trunk, students on crutches, etc.). If utilizing this, please pull into a parking space to unload. For parent pick-up, we will be utilizing the front circle as well as the gym side of the building. If using the gym side parking lot, please pull into a parking spot for loading. Please communicate with your child which location you plan to pick them up from.
We look forward to working together with you to ensure another successful year for our Falcons!
Falcon Strong,
Chad Armstrong
Interim Principal
