My name is Elizabeth Sielski and I am a senior here at Massaponax! I am the daughter of Dawn and Bill Sielski. I also have a brother, Will, who graduated from Ponax in 2017. I have had a memorable four years here at Massaponax as I have been an active student in the school community. I am a member of the marketing co-curricular club, DECA, Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, and the Principal's Advisory Committee. A few months ago, I competed at the DECA District Competition where I placed third overall in the Entrepreneurship Role Play Series, and will be representing Massaponax at the State Competition in March at Virginia Beach. I have achieved honor roll each year since I was a freshman. I have also received several academic excellence awards in Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation, and Physical Education/ Driver’s Ed. My favorite class I have taken in school is Sports and Entertainment Marketing. I would like to thank my marketing teachers; Mrs. Saunders, Ms. Cook, and Mr. Osso, who have played a crucial role in my growth and development in this course. Outside of academics, I am a dedicated athlete. I have been a four-year varsity player for the Massaponax Girls Soccer program and my club team, Fredericksburg Football Club for the past five years. I have served as team captain for both teams for the past two seasons. Last year, I was selected for First-Team All-District, Second-Team All-Area, and was selected as Team Player of the Year. I am most proud of the commitment I have had to Massaponax and how dedicated I am to getting others involved in school activities to ensure everyone’s high school experience is unforgettable. I am thankful for the relationships I have made with my teachers and peers as they have helped shape me into the person I am today. After high school, I will attend Georgia Southwestern State University to continue my academic and soccer career. I will be pursuing a degree in business with a focus on entrepreneurship and digital marketing. I want to study abroad every summer to learn about the business/ marketing industries and how to develop as an emerging leader.
My biggest advice to students is to go after your dreams, never give up on yourself, and always work hard. You’re capable of so much more than you think
