Attendance matters here at Livingston!
Did you know when a student misses two days a month they will miss 20 days a year? That can lead to missing over one year of school by graduation.
We understand that students will miss due to illness. Here are the procedures when something does arise and your student needs to miss.
The best option is always to reach out to your child’s teacher via email or Class Dojo, indicating that your child will be absent and the reason for this absence. The teacher will be able to forward this message to both our counselor and our attendance secretary.
We have an Attendance Hotline here at Livingston! Simply dial 540-895-5101, and choose option 1. You will then be prompted to leave a voicemail for our attendance secretary to note the absence and the reason for this absence.
In addition, we have an attendance email address that you can utilize. Just send a short message to livingstonesattendance@spotsylvania.k12.va.us, indicating that your child will be absent, and the reason for this absence.
Please understand that our attendance secretary is required to document reasons for tardies and early dismissals. Should you need to drop your student off late or pick him/her up early, please expect to provide an explanation for this. Also, early dismissals from the front office end at 3:10 p.m. Any pick-ups after 3:10 PM require the parent to join the parent pick-up loop.
