HAPPY NEW YEAR LION NATION-
We want to wish you and your family seasons greetings! We hope you enjoyed the winter break. Please remember that school is closed for all students from December 22-January 5th. Students will return to school on January 6th to begin the 2nd semester. Thank you for all of your support of Lion Nation as we head into the New Year 2026! We will continue to keep all of our lions safe, connected, and engaged in the new year.
Drop-Off Zone: Quick Rules
● Speed Limit: Enter the area at 10 mph or less.
● Stay Alert: Refrain from cell phone use in the drop-off area.
● Ready to Go: Have children ready to exit on the passenger side.
● Unload in Zone: Pull all the way forward, filling in the space up to the first cone in order to unload your child in the cone zone area.
● Stop & Wait: Come to a complete stop and wait for your child to be safely on the curb before driving away.
● Follow Traffic Flow: Do not attempt to turn around or pass other cars.
● Bad Weather: Arrive 10-15 minutes earlier than usual on rainy or snowy days.
● Staff Guidance: Always follow the directions of staff on duty.
● Safety Reminder: DO NOT drop off your child in the parking lot or bus loop after 8:45 a.m. as there is no staff supervision outside.
● After 8:45 a.m.: Cars attempting to drive through the drop-off loop after 8:45 a.m. will be directed to the main parking lot. Parents must park and walk their child into the school to check them in.

December 22nd-January 5th- Winter Break. School Closed for students.
January 6th- Students return to school.

January 9th- House Meeting Day! Wear your house colors.
January 10th- SCPS Division Wide Spelling bee 9:00 am
January 15th- Parent Conference Night (Please make an appointment with your child’s teacher.)
January 19th- Student/Staff Holiday- School is closed.
January 30th- BINGO Night! 5:00-6:30 pm.
ATTENDANCE MATTERS-
Congratulations to our 4th graders again for having the best overall grade level attendance for the month of November! Regular school attendance is essential to academic success! We encourage families to set regular routines for getting students to school on time each day and checking backpacks for safety. Thank you for your support!
SCPS TECHNOLOGY UPDATES IN PARENTVUE-
The technology department will be removing all quarterly report cards that are not from the 2025-26 school year in ParentVUE. End of Year report cards will stay for all years. If parents want to keep these old report cards they should download them from ParentVUE prior to January 7, 2026.
SCHOOL DIRECTORY SIGN UP-
We are working to create the LHES School Directory for our 25-25 school year. If you would like to make your information available to other LHES parents, please fill out the information in the link below. Many people ask for information to facilitate social connections outside of school, coordinate homework/class tasks, prepare for school events, and build our community. A directory will be created from the entries provided and shared only with those parents/guardians within the directory. Click here.

HERE COMES THE BUS APP-
The Here Comes the Bus parent app for school bus tracking will be reactivated on Wednesday, August 6th. Until that day, parents will not be able to create a new account or add a new student. If parents have any questions, please visit the Transportation section of the SCPS website, where they can access the Here Comes the Bus support site.
DRILLS-
Our school practices safety drills each year in order to train students and staff on emergency procedures. We will be practicing fire drills, severe weather drills, and lockdown/intruder drills several times within the first 20 days of school and then continuously throughout the year.

Zona de descenso: reglas rápidas

●Mal tiempo:Llegar 10-15 minutos antesde lo habitual en días lluviosos o nevados.
●Orientación del personal:Siga siempre las indicaciones del personal de turno.
●Recordatorio de seguridad: NODeje a su hijo en el estacionamiento o en el circuito de autobuses después de las 8:45 a. m., ya que no hay supervisión del personal afuera.
●Después de las 8:45 a.m.:Los automóviles que intenten pasar por el área de descenso después de las 8:45 a. m. serán dirigidos al estacionamiento principal.Los padres deben estacionar y acompañar a sus hijos hasta la escuela para registrarlos.

10 de enero-Concurso de ortografía de toda la división SCPS 9:00 a. m.
15 de enero-Noche de conferencias para padres (haga una cita con el maestro de su hijo).
19 de enero-Vacaciones para estudiantes y personal: la escuela está cerrada.
30 de enero-¡Noche de BINGO! 5:00-6:30 pm.
LA ASISTENCIA IMPORTA-
¡Felicitamos nuevamente a nuestros alumnos de 4.º grado por la mejor asistencia general de su grado durante el mes de noviembre! ¡La asistencia regular a la escuela es esencial para el éxito académico! Animamos a las familias a establecer rutinas regulares para que los alumnos lleguen puntualmente a la escuela todos los días y revisen sus mochilas para garantizar su seguridad. ¡Gracias por su apoyo!
ACTUALIZACIONES TECNOLÓGICAS DE SCPS EN PARENTVUE-
El departamento de tecnología eliminará de ParentVUE todas las boletas de calificaciones trimestrales que no sean del año escolar 2025-26. Las boletas de calificaciones de fin de año se conservarán para todos los años. Si los padres desean conservar estas boletas de calificaciones antiguas, deben descargarlas de ParentVUE antes del 7 de enero de 2026.

Estamos trabajando en la creación del Directorio Escolar de LHES para el año escolar 2025-2026. Si desea compartir su información con otros padres de LHES, complete el formulario en el enlace a continuación. ¡AQUÍ VIENE LA APLICACIÓN DEL AUTOBÚS!
La aplicación para padres "Here Comes the Bus" para el seguimiento del autobús escolar se reactivará el miércoles 6 de agosto. Hasta esa fecha, los padres no podrán crear una nueva cuenta ni agregar nuevos estudiantes. Si tienen alguna pregunta, pueden visitar la sección de Transporte del sitio web de SCPS, donde podrán acceder a... Sitio de soporte de Here Comes the Bus.
TALADROS-
Nuestra escuela practica simulacros de seguridad cada año para capacitar a estudiantes y personal sobre procedimientos de emergencia. Practicaremos simulacros de incendio, de clima severo y de encierro/intrusión varias veces durante los primeros 20 días de clases y, posteriormente, de forma continua durante todo el año.
