VETERANS DAY PARADE COMING UP-
We love our Veterans! On November 11th, we plan to honor our veterans and military families with a brief ceremony and annual parade. We would like to recognize our service members throughout Lion Nation. We will begin at 9:15 am with our parade followed by a brief ceremony and reception in the cafeteria. Please click on and complete the following google form so that we may recognize and salute our LHES Veterans:
PARENT VOLUNTEER INTEREST MEETING-
Mrs. Lewter and Mrs. Hall will be holding a parent volunteer interest meeting on November 12th from 5:00-5:30 pm in our school library. We are seeking volunteers to help with our upcoming school events. Please join us if you would like to help us with planning for school events and LHES traditions. We welcome all help and ideas!
SAVE THE DATE FOR OUR ANNUAL WINTER MULTICULTURAL FAIR-
We are looking forward to our annual Winter Multicultural Fair coming up on December 12th from 5:00-6:30 pm, followed by our Winter Chorus and Orff Ensemble Concert at 6:30 pm. ATTENDANCE MATTERS-
Congratulations to our 5th graders again for having the best overall grade level attendance for the month of October! Regular school attendance is essential to academic success! We encourage families to set regular routines for getting students to school on time each day and checking backpacks for safety. Thank you for your support! Here are some highlights from October:

SCHOOL DIRECTORY SIGN UP-
We are working to create the LHES School Directory for our 25-25 school year. If you would like to make your information available to other LHES parents, please fill out the information in the link below. Many people ask for information to facilitate social connections outside of school, coordinate homework/class tasks, prepare for school events, and build our community. HERE COMES THE BUS APP-
The Here Comes the Bus parent app for school bus tracking will be reactivated on Wednesday, August 6th. Until that day, parents will not be able to create a new account or add a new student. If parents have any questions, please visit the Transportation section of the SCPS website, where they can access the Here Comes the Bus support site.
DRILLS-
Our school practices safety drills each year in order to train students and staff on emergency procedures. We will be practicing fire drills, severe weather drills, and lockdown/intruder drills several times within the first 20 days of school and then continuously throughout the year.

LA ASISTENCIA IMPORTA
¡Felicitaciones nuevamente a nuestros alumnos de quinto grado por tener la mejor asistencia general de su nivel durante el mes de octubre! La asistencia regular a la escuela es fundamental para el éxito académico. Animamos a las familias a establecer rutinas para que los estudiantes lleguen a la escuela a tiempo todos los días y a revisar sus mochilas para garantizar su seguridad. ¡Gracias por su apoyo! ¡LLEGA LA APLICACIÓN DE AUTOBUSES!
La aplicación para padres "Here Comes the Bus" para el seguimiento de autobuses escolares se reactivará el miércoles 6 de agosto. Hasta entonces, los padres no podrán crear una cuenta nueva ni agregar un nuevo estudiante. Si tienen alguna pregunta, visiten la sección de Transporte del sitio web de SCPS, donde podrán acceder a la información. Aquí viene el sitio de soporte de Bus.
EJERCICIOS-
Nuestra escuela realiza simulacros de seguridad cada año para capacitar a estudiantes y personal en procedimientos de emergencia. Practicaremos simulacros de incendio, simulacros de clima severo y simulacros de confinamiento/intrusión varias veces durante los primeros 20 días de clases y luego de forma continua durante todo el año.
