CHECK PARENTVUE FOR BACK TO SCHOOL FORMS-
We would like to remind all parents to go online to ParentVue and check each child’s back to school digital forms. The new year packet of digital forms must be filled out for each child by September 25, 2025.
*Upcoming Important Dates for LHES:
*We will continue our safety drills next week. We will practice a fire drill next week.
September 19th- Dressing Days Event at Parkside Elementary from 5:00-7:00 pm. Come out to get free clothing, resources, and food! This event is open to anyone. *See attached flyers.
September 22nd and 23rd- School is closed for students. September 22 is a teacher workday and September 23 is a student/teacher holiday.
October 2nd- Student/Teacher Holiday. All schools are closed.
October 3rd- House Meeting Day! Wear your house colors!
October 10th- End of the 1st Quarter
October 13th- Student Holiday/Teacher Workday. No school for students.
October 16th- Parent Teacher Conference Night from 4:00-6:30 pm.
*Report cards will be available on ParentVue.
October 17th- Picture Retake Day
SCHOOLWIDE GOALS FOR LEE HILL ELEMENTARY-
Lee Hill Elementary School is a Title I School, which means our school receives federal funding to support student needs. As part of our annual goal setting process, we are focusing on two main areas for academic growth and achievement this school year: writing and student engagement in math. We want our school community to be informed about the work we do and our goals. Here are the goals we are working on this year in addition to maintaining academic success in all areas:
ATTENDANCE MATTERS-
*5th Grade had the best attendance for the month of August! We had over 300 students with perfect attendance in August! Way to go Lions!
Regular school attendance is essential to academic success! We encourage families to set regular routines for getting students to school on time each day and checking backpacks for safety. Thank you for your support!
SAVE THE DATE-
*We are so excited about our annual LHES Multicultural Fair and Career Expo! Save the date for December 12th from 5:00-6:30 followed by our Winter Concert at 6:30 pm. Our Career Expo is coming up on November 3rd with more information to come soon!

HERE COMES THE BUS APP-
The Here Comes the Bus parent app for school bus tracking will be reactivated on Wednesday, August 6th. Until that day, parents will not be able to create a new account or add a new student. If parents have any questions, please visit the Transportation section of the SCPS website, where they can access the Here Comes the Bus support site.
UPDATE ON ACCESSING SCHOOL PROPERTY AFTER HOURS-
Due to the installation of our new modular unit (The Cub Cabin) in the back of our property and the addition of new preschool programs this year, community members, students, or families are no longer allowed to access the back playgrounds behind the school during or after school hours. For the safety and security of our school grounds, there will be no loitering allowed behind the school. Thank you for your support of this safety measure as we await the installation of more fencing along the back of our school grounds
DRILLS-
Our school practices safety drills each year in order to train students and staff on emergency procedures. We will be practicing fire drills, severe weather drills, and lockdown/intruder drills several times within the first 20 days of school and then continuously throughout the year. We will also practice bus drills in September and throughout the year.

CONSULTE PARENTVUE PARA OBTENER LOS FORMULARIOS DE REGRESO A LA ESCUELA
Recordamos a todos los padres que accedan a ParentVue y revisen los formularios digitales de regreso a clases de cada niño. El paquete de formularios digitales de año nuevo debe completarse para cada niño antes del 25 de septiembre de 2025.

Continuaremos con nuestros simulacros de seguridad la próxima semana. Practicaremos un simulacro de incendio la próxima semana.
19 de septiembre-Evento "Días de Vestimenta" en la Escuela Primaria Parkside de 5:00 p. m. a 7:00 p. m. ¡Ven a recibir ropa, recursos y comida gratis! Este evento es para todos. *Consulta los folletos adjuntos.
22 y 23 de septiembre-La escuela está cerrada para los estudiantes. El 22 de septiembre es día laborable para los docentes y el 23 de septiembre es feriado para estudiantes y docentes.
2 de octubre-Vacaciones para estudiantes y profesores. Todas las escuelas están cerradas.
3 de octubre-¡Día de reunión de la casa! ¡Viste los colores de tu casa!

OBJETIVOS DE TODA LA ESCUELA PARA LA ESCUELA PRIMARIA LEE HILL-
La Escuela Primaria Lee Hill es una escuela con Título I, lo que significa que recibe fondos federales para cubrir las necesidades de los estudiantes. Como parte de nuestro proceso anual de establecimiento de metas, nos centramos en dos áreas principales para el crecimiento y el rendimiento académico este año escolar: escritura y participación estudiantil en matemáticas. Queremos que nuestra comunidad escolar esté informada sobre el trabajo que realizamos y nuestras metas. Estos son los objetivos en los que trabajamos este año, además de mantener el éxito académico en todas las áreas:
LA ASISTENCIA IMPORTA-
*¡El quinto grado tuvo la mejor asistencia del mes de agosto! ¡Tuvimos más de 300 estudiantes con asistencia perfecta en agosto! ¡Bien hecho, Leones!
¡La asistencia regular a la escuela es esencial para el éxito académico! Animamos a las familias a establecer rutinas regulares para que los estudiantes lleguen puntualmente a la escuela todos los días y revisen las mochilas para garantizar su seguridad. ¡Gracias por su apoyo!
GUARDE LA FECHA-
¡Estamos muy emocionados por nuestra Feria Multicultural y Exposición Profesional anual de LHES! Reserva la fecha para el 12 de diciembre de 17:00 a 18:30, seguido de nuestro Concierto de Invierno a las 18:30. Nuestra Exposición Profesional se celebrará el 3 de noviembre y pronto les daremos más información.

¡AQUÍ VIENE LA APLICACIÓN DEL AUTOBÚS!
La aplicación para padres "Here Comes the Bus" para el seguimiento del autobús escolar se reactivará el miércoles 6 de agosto. Hasta esa fecha, los padres no podrán crear una nueva cuenta ni agregar nuevos estudiantes. Si tienen alguna pregunta, pueden visitar la sección de Transporte del sitio web de SCPS, donde podrán acceder a... Sitio de soporte de Here Comes the Bus.
ACTUALIZACIÓN SOBRE EL ACCESO A LA PROPIEDAD ESCOLAR FUERA DEL HORARIO DE ATENCIÓN
Debido a la instalación de nuestra nueva unidad modular (The Cub Cabin) en la parte trasera de nuestra propiedad y a la incorporación de nuevos programas preescolares este año, los miembros de la comunidad, estudiantes y familias ya no podrán acceder a los patios traseros de la escuela durante ni después del horario escolar. Para la seguridad de nuestro plantel, no se permitirá el paso detrás de la escuela. Gracias por su apoyo a esta medida de seguridad mientras esperamos la instalación de más cercas en la parte trasera del plantel.
TALADROS-
Nuestra escuela realiza simulacros de seguridad cada año para capacitar a los estudiantes y al personal en procedimientos de emergencia. Realizaremos simulacros de incendio, de clima severo y de encierro/intrusión varias veces durante los primeros 20 días de clases y, posteriormente, de forma continua durante todo el año. También realizaremos simulacros de autobús en septiembre y durante todo el año.
