CHECK PARENTVUE FOR BACK TO SCHOOL FORMS-
We would like to remind all parents to go online to ParentVue and check each child’s back to school digital forms. The new year packet of digital forms must be filled out for each child by September 25, 2025.

*We will continue our safety drills next week. We will practice a Shelter In Place/Tornado Drill and Bus Drill.
September 16th- Fall Picture Day
September 17th- Citizenship Day (Constitution Day)

September 22nd and 23rd- School is closed for students. September 22 is a teacher workday and September 23 is a student/teacher holiday.

SCHOOLWIDE GOALS FOR LEE HILL ELEMENTARY-
Lee Hill Elementary School is a Title I School, which means our school receives federal funding to support student needs. As part of our annual goal setting process, we are focusing on two main areas for academic growth and achievement this school year: writing and student engagement in math. We want our school community to be informed about the work we do and our goals. Here are the goals we are working on this year in addition to maintaining academic success in all areas:
ATTENDANCE MATTERS-
Regular school attendance is essential to academic success! We encourage families to set regular routines for getting students to school on time each day and checking backpacks for safety. Thank you for your support!

RENAISSANCE SURVEY-
Dear Families,
We hope your school year is off to a great start! Spotsylvania County Public Schools will administer a survey for students called Renaissance Fundamentals. All students, in grades 2nd through 12th will be invited to participate. Information collected from the Renaissance Fundamentals survey will allow our school team to proactively address non-academic barriers to learning, which can compromise the wellbeing and academic success of our students. While student participation is voluntary, the information will help us better understand and provide support to your student.
The short engagement survey is focused on the following nine factors:
Feeling about school
Perceived learning capability
Self-regard as a learner
Preparedness for learning
Attitude of teachers
General work ethic
Confidence in learning
Attitudes of school attendance
Response to curriculum demands
Students are scheduled to take the survey September 15th-26th and again during the second semester from January 19th - 20th. If you have any questions about the purpose of the survey or wish to opt your child out from completing the survey, please contact your child’s school counseling office prior to September 15th.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR LHES SCHOOL OPERATIONS & PROCEDURES 2025-2026-

Cell Phones:
Students may not access cell phones, smartwatches, or personal devices during the school day while on school property including buses.
Electronic devices should remain at home. If a student has a cell phone, it must remain off and in their backpack. Please refrain from any cell phone and smartwatch communication use in the building or on the bus. Taking pictures or video in the school setting or on the school bus is not permitted.
HERE COMES THE BUS APP-
The Here Comes the Bus parent app for school bus tracking will be reactivated on Wednesday, August 6th. Until that day, parents will not be able to create a new account or add a new student. If parents have any questions, please visit the Transportation section of the SCPS website, where they can access the Here Comes the Bus support site.
UPDATE ON ACCESSING SCHOOL PROPERTY AFTER HOURS-
Due to the installation of our new modular unit (The Cub Cabin) in the back of our property and the addition of new preschool programs this year, community members, students, or families are no longer allowed to access the back playgrounds behind the school during or after school hours. For the safety and security of our school grounds, there will be no loitering allowed behind the school. Thank you for your support of this safety measure as we await the installation of more fencing along the back of our school grounds
DRILLS-
Our school practices safety drills each year in order to train students and staff on emergency procedures. We will be practicing fire drills, severe weather drills, and lockdown/intruder drills several times within the first 20 days of school and then continuously throughout the year. We will also practice bus drills in September and throughout the year.

OBJETIVOS DE TODA LA ESCUELA PARA LA ESCUELA PRIMARIA LEE HILL-
La Escuela Primaria Lee Hill es una escuela de Título I, lo que significa que recibe fondos federales para apoyar las necesidades de sus estudiantes. ENCUESTA DEL RENACIMIENTO-
Queridas familias:
¡Esperamos que su año escolar haya comenzado de maravilla! Las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Spotsylvania realizarán una encuesta para estudiantes llamada Fundamentos del Renacimiento. Todos los estudiantes de 2.º a 12.º grado estarán invitados a participar. La información recopilada en la encuesta Fundamentos del Renacimiento permitirá a nuestro equipo escolar abordar de forma proactiva las barreras no académicas que dificultan el aprendizaje y pueden comprometer el bienestar y el éxito académico de nuestros estudiantes. Si bien la participación es voluntaria, la información nos ayudará a comprender mejor y brindar apoyo a su estudiante.
La breve encuesta de participación se centra en los siguientes nueve factores:
Sentimientos sobre la escuela
Capacidad de aprendizaje percibida
La autoestima como aprendiz
Preparación para el aprendizaje
Actitud de los docentes
Ética general del trabajo
Confianza en el aprendizaje

Está previsto que los estudiantes realicen la encuesta del 15 al 26 de septiembre y nuevamente durante el segundo semestre del 19 al 20 de enero.Si tiene alguna pregunta sobre el propósito de la encuesta o desea que su hijo no participe en la encuesta, comuníquese con la oficina de orientación escolar de su hijo antes del 15 de septiembre..

INFORMACIÓN IMPORTANTE PARA LAS OPERACIONES Y PROCEDIMIENTOS ESCOLARES DE LHES 2025-2026-

Teléfonos celulares:
Los estudiantes no pueden acceder a teléfonos celulares, relojes inteligentes o dispositivos personales durante el día escolar mientras se encuentren en la propiedad escolar, incluidos los autobuses.
Los dispositivos electrónicos deben permanecer en casa. Si un estudiante tiene un celular, debe permanecer apagado y en su mochila. Por favor, absténgase de usar el celular o el reloj inteligente en el edificio o en el autobús. No se permite tomar fotos ni videos en el entorno escolar ni en el autobús escolar.
¡AQUÍ VIENE LA APLICACIÓN DEL AUTOBÚS!
La aplicación para padres "Here Comes the Bus" para el seguimiento del autobús escolar se reactivará el miércoles 6 de agosto. Hasta esa fecha, los padres no podrán crear una nueva cuenta ni agregar a un nuevo estudiante. Si tienen alguna pregunta, pueden visitar la sección de Transporte del sitio web de SCPS, donde podrán acceder a... Sitio de soporte de Here Comes the Bus.
ACTUALIZACIÓN SOBRE EL ACCESO A LA PROPIEDAD ESCOLAR FUERA DEL HORARIO DE ATENCIÓN
Debido a la instalación de nuestra nueva unidad modular (La Cabaña del Cub) en la parte trasera de nuestra propiedad y a la incorporación de nuevos programas preescolares este año, los miembros de la comunidad, estudiantes y familias ya no podrán acceder a los patios traseros de la escuela durante ni después del horario escolar. Para la seguridad de nuestro plantel, no se permitirá el paso detrás de la escuela. Gracias por su apoyo a esta medida de seguridad mientras esperamos la instalación de más cercas en la parte trasera del plantel.
TALADROS-
Nuestra escuela realiza simulacros de seguridad cada año para capacitar a los estudiantes y al personal en procedimientos de emergencia. Realizaremos simulacros de incendio, de clima severo y de encierro/intrusión varias veces durante los primeros 20 días de clases y, posteriormente, de forma continua durante todo el año. También realizaremos simulacros de autobús en septiembre y durante todo el año.
