and medical assistants while providing support.
What ARE our externs reporting about their experience? Senior Rachael Reid said in her feedback survey:
“I have learned lots of new TERMINOLOGY AND will apply that to my class. This experience taught me that being punctual is important as well as limiting time on your phone and working with your coworkers to solve a problem. I think that this opportunity helps you understand what the professional working world is like. I observed an ILR (Implantable Loop Recorder) procedure as well as a catheter to place a stent in. I learned to take blood pressure and perform EKGs on patients. I also learned how to interact with patients and coworkers. This opportunity also taught me how to work under pressure, be consistent, and have good communication skills.”
