Commonwealth Governor's School (CGS) and International Baccalaureate (IB) are the Advanced Academic High School programs. These highly competitive programs for our advanced 8th grade students (Algebra I and Geometry students) require a multi-component application process.
If you are interested in applying for the CGS and/or IB High School Program, you need to return the Permission to Apply form (Spanish) to the registrar, Mrs. Withers, or your counselor, Mrs. Friedman, as soon as possible.
The on-line application will open on December 2, 2024 and will be due on January 10, 2025. 8th grade applicants will attach a digital project to the application before it is submitted.
Applicants need to start thinking of the four teachers whom they want to complete their for teacher recommendations. The teacher recommendations should be from an English, Math, and other teacher that they've had in middle school (6th-8th grade). The last recommendation may come from a coach or mentor or another teacher who knows them well (in grades 6-8) and isn't related to them. The teachers will receive the teacher recommendation form by email when the applicant submits their application.
