Due to the anticipated inclement weather, Spotsylvania County Public Schools will be closed with asynchronous remote learning for students on Monday, March 16, 2026. 12-month employees report on time. All school and non-school activities, day and evening, are canceled.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION
SCPS will be providing meal bags at Chancellor High School from 10 a.m. to Noon on Monday, March 16th. All SCPS Students are eligible to receive one meal bag. It is not necessary for your child to be with you at the food distribution site; however, you will need to know your child's student ID or lunch number to pick up the meal bag.

UPDATE: IMPORTANT 2025-2026 INSTRUCTIONAL CALENDAR CHANGE
At the School Board Meeting on March 9, 2026, the School Board voted to add April 21, 2026, as a Teacher Work Day/Student Holiday due to the special election announcement on March 2, 2026. As a reminder, many of our schools are used as polling sites. The School Board made no other changes to the 2025-2026 Instructional Calendar. Friday, March 13, 2026, remains a Teacher Professional Learning Day/Student Holiday and the grading period remains unchanged.

This past Thursday and Friday, all 3 of our choirs went to the District 15 Assessment. 6th Grade Chorus, Treble Chorus, and Mixed Chamber Chorus all received scores of SUPERIOR for their stage performances, and their sight reading. Way to go, chorus!

Mr. Sheetz’s students tested out our new Climate in Action kits today. Think: LEGO-like building + microbit coding! Today’s lesson was building a habitat monitoring system. Students were able to test out the moisture and solar sensors.

INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTICE FOR MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2026

Spotsylvania County Public Schools will open two hours late on Monday, February 23, 2026. No AM ECSE preschool classes, PM classes will begin on time. 12-month employees report to work on time. We are continuing to monitor conditions and will reassess in the morning.
