Virginia FBLA began in 1942 when a local chapter was chartered at Spotsylvania High School. In 1950, Virginia was chartered as the eleventh State Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America.

The FBLA-PBL mission promotes a positive relationship between business and education through innovative leadership and career development programs.
