I am blessed to be able to continue to serve as the principal of Salem Elementary! This is my 7th year being a part of the Salem family. I’m excited to continue my leadership role. I am a long-time educator, beginning my teaching career in 1994 as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher. I also taught every grade through 8th grade over the years.  I was then appointed as an Instructional Specialist at the elementary level. I worked with teachers on curriculum and instruction, providing leadership with staff development, interventions, and program needs. In 2017, I moved to Virginia and was allowed to be the assistant principal here at Salem. I knew, almost immediately, that I belonged amongst the Salem Stars!

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University and a Master of Education degree in Administration, Supervision, Curriculum & Instruction from Duquesne University. I am a proponent of the Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports Program (PBIS). I believe in establishing high academic expectations and building strong, positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and community members to create an environment where all students can succeed. If I can help throughout the year, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Dear Salem Elementary School Community,

I am both honored and excited to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. Joining such a dedicated and engaged community is a privilege, and I am eager to work alongside you to uphold and advance the tradition of excellence that defines Salem Elementary.

My journey in education has been driven by a passion for fostering student growth and creating inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environments. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Virginia State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Averett University. With 10 years of experience in various educational roles—ranging from classroom teacher to Summer School Administrator and, most recently, Assistant Principal—I bring a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to this role.

My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I am excited about the journey ahead and confident that, together, we will continue to make Salem Elementary a wonderful place to work and learn.
