Meet Our Principal

Mrs. Xanthe McFadden

Dear Wonderful Husky Families,

I am so excited and truly honored to be the principal of Harrison Road Elementary School. I look forward to continuing to work with the staff, students, families, and community members to do whatever it takes to ensure that all students learn and grow at high levels.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from York College of Pennsylvania and my Master of Education in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. I began my educational career as a Head Start teacher for the District of Columbia Public Schools. I also served as an elementary school teacher, assistant principal, and principal for Prince William County Public Schools. I feel very fortunate to continue to have the opportunity to be an educational leader for Spotsylvania County Public Schools, where I reside with my husband and son.

As the principal of Harrison Road Elementary School, my goal is to ensure that we, as educators, can show students how to be the best they can be in all aspects of life. I will continue to work to provide leadership that fosters an environment of safety, respect, and social and academic learning at the highest levels.

Meet Our Assistant Principal

Dr. Amanda Ayers

Dear Harrison Road Elementary Community,

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as Harrison Road Elementary's newly appointed assistant principal.

I was born and raised in Eunice, Louisiana, and graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s in elementary education. I then earned my master’s degree in education from the University of Mary Washington and my Ph.D. in education from George Mason University. I furthered my education and earned my post-master’s certificate in administration and supervision from Longwood University.

This upcoming school year will mark my 20th year in education. For the last two years, I have proudly served as the administrative instructional specialist at Harrison Road Elementary. Previously, I had the honor of being a reading specialist at both the elementary and secondary levels, and I had the privilege of starting my teaching career as a 1st—and 2nd-grade classroom teacher. In addition to being an educator, I am a proud Marine wife and mother of four wonderful children.

I am eager to continue collaborating with our dedicated faculty and staff, engage with our wonderful students, and partner with parents and guardians to ensure that Harrison Road Elementary continues to be a place where each child can thrive.
