Meet ChES Administration

Mr. Hudson

Shawn Hudson

Principal

Greeting Knights’ Community,

My name is Shawn Hudson, and I am excited to be in my 17th year as the proud principal of Chancellor Elementary School. I am originally from Central Pennsylvania and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with an Associate Degree in Criminology and Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.  In 2000, I moved to Virginia, where I started my teaching career in Cumberland County and later Henrico County. I continued my studies to earn a Master’s of Educational Leadership Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. My wife is also an administrator in another Virginia school division. I am the proud father of twins Noah and Grace. We have one Dachshund, Sadie. I am an avid sports enthusiast and a devoted Penn State Steelers and Penguins fan. While not at work, I enjoy working on cars and spending time outdoors. I have been blessed to be the Principal of Chancellor Elementary, where we strive for academic success and a holistic approach to educating each child. As we move ahead and prepare our students to be productive citizens in a global society, I have identified our keys to success at ChES as hard-working students, dedicated staff, supportive parents, and community involvement. Go Knights!

Casey Mahoney

Assistant Principal

Greetings, Chancellor students, parents, and community members.  My name is Casey Mahoney, and I am thrilled to be this fantastic school's assistant principal!

I am originally from New Mexico and moved to Arizona, where I attended Northern Arizona University for my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and my Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I also have an MBA in human resources from Liberty University. I taught for several years in Arizona and then had the opportunity to work in a coaching position. I moved to Virginia in December of 2015. I worked as an instructional coach for Spotswood Elementary and Post Oak Middle and as the assistant principal at Courthouse Road Elementary.

I love being the assistant principal here at Chancellor. Please know that my door is always open. I look forward to the relationships I will continue forming and strengthening with our students, staff, parents, and community members during the school year!
