Greetings Brock Road Bobcats,

It is an honor and privilege to serve as your principal! At Brock Road, we believe every student is unique, with experiences and strengths that make them special. As your principal, I promise to keep students at the forefront of every decision we make as a school.  We will strive to teach and provide students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary for a successful future.  We will encourage and teach curiosity and problem-solving and instill a lifelong love of learning.
Most importantly, every child will be valued and cared for when they enter our doors. We look forward to working with our families to create a meaningful educational experience. Biography: This fall will begin Mrs. Ochs' 21st year in education and 15th year as a school administrator. She began her career as an applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapist, teaching students with special needs. She then taught both second and third grade before becoming an administrator. She holds a Virginia license in K-12 administration, elementary education, and English as a Second Language (ESOL). She was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri. Being a military spouse for nearly two decades has provided her with teaching and leadership experiences from the West Coast to the East Coast. She relocated to Stafford, Virginia with her family in 2014 and was named the 2018 Stafford County Assistant Principal of the Year. She currently resides in Spotsylvania and has three daughters attending Spotsylvania County Schools.

Dear Bobcat Families,

I am honored and proud to serve you as the assistant principal of Brock Road Elementary School. Brock Road is a school where each child is valued and encouraged to develop a passion for learning and growing, where families feel connected, and the school community feels safe and secure. It is important to me that our school enjoys a strong and positive relationship with the community. I will do my part to nurture that relationship.
Brock Road is committed to providing your child with the best education. Our teachers collaborate to share best practices and strategies to optimize student achievement. We focus on the whole child to ensure that each student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.

Biography: This fall will start Mrs. Steis’ 27th year in education. She began her career as a kindergarten and third-grade teacher, where she discovered her passion for teaching students to read. She spent 16 years as a reading specialist and literacy coach. Mrs. Steis holds a Virginia license in K-12 administration, elementary education, and a reading endorsement. Mrs. Steis has been recognized as Teacher of the Year four times. She resides in Spotsylvania County with her husband and two children.
