     2 YEAR Program beginning grade 11 and completing grade 12

     Certifications:

    Students are eligible to sit for the ASE exams in collision repair.  This program is a NATEF certified program.

    Auto Collision Repair I    Credit: 4 Offered Grade 11

    Students are taught non-structural analysis, damage repair, and welding. Students work with a variety of materials, using metal finishing and body filling techniques to prepare surfaces and repair panels.  In addition, student’s practices shop safely and gain career skills.  The essential workplace readiness skills of teamwork, problem solving, positive work ethic, communication and integrity are emphasized.  Students who successfully complete this program sequence will be prepared to take and pass the respective ASE/NATEF exam and will be prepared for postsecondary education opportunities as well as entry level positions in the collision repair industry.

    Auto Collision Repair II  Credit: 4 Units Offered Grade 12 Prerequisites: Auto Collision Repair I

    Students are taught to repair, mask, and refinish auto body components and entire vehicles.  They are taught and demonstrate the use of spray guns, personal safety equipment while applying undercoats and topcoats, working with a variety of materials and gaining career skills.  The essential workplace readiness skills of teamwork, problem solving, positive work ethic, communication and integrity are emphasized.  Students who successfully complete this program sequence will be prepared to take and pass the respective ASE/NATEF exam and will be prepared for postsecondary education opportunities as well as entry level positions in the collision repair industry.

    Additional Information:

    • Students are expected to wear appropriate safety gear and uniforms in the lab
    • Students are expected to join the Career and Technical Student Organization SkillsUSA and SkillsUSA Virginia
