Prashant Shrestha, Chief Business Officer - After graduating from Marshall University in 2001, Mr. Shrestha started his career in North Carolina as a math teacher and soccer coach in Tarboro High School. Later, he moved to Virginia in order to be with his family where he began a 12+ year career in Prince William County, serving for both the government and schools. During this time Mr. Shrestha worked primarily in the area of budget and finance in various departments such as Information Technology, Public Works, and the Office of Management and Budget.
Eventually, in 2016, after earning a Master in Public Administration from George Mason University, Mr. Shrestha was appointed as the Budget Director in Fauquier County, VA. He would be soon promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Business and Planning later in the following year. During this time, he was the principal advisor to the superintendent on all business functions and was responsible for budget and planning, nutrition, facilities, capital projects, transportation, and school security.
Mr. Shrestha joined Spotsylvania County Public Schools on January 1, 2021 as Chief Business Officer.
