Tedra Richardson

Ms. Tedra L. Richardson, Executive Director of Student Support Services - Ms. Richardson has been in Education as a Special Educator for 20 years.  She has served students across all levels of varying exceptionalities over the course of her career.  As a native of Virginia, she began her teaching career in Louisa County Public Schools and then served the students of Broward County Florida in the public and private educational settings.  In 2007, she returned to Virginia as the Supervisor of Special Education for Spotsylvania County Public Schools.  Over the course of her tenure with Spotslyvania, she has grown in her scope and responsibilities as her office moved towards a more inclusive focus from Special Services to Student Support Services.  Ms. Richardson is passionate about meeting the needs of all students, but especially those with disabilities, as she enjoys the creative opportunities and collaborative partnerships afforded to her on a daily basis in meeting the needs of students and their families across the division - she approaches every opportunity with Having Only Positive Expectations (HOPE).  When not supporting SCPS, Ms. Richardson enjoys time with her family and her new passion of running.
