2 YEAR Program beginning grade 11 and completing grade 12
Graphic Imaging Technology I Credit: 2 Units; Offered Grade 11
Provides students with occupational skills relating specifically to the graphics industry. Through hands-on activities, students will learn layout and design techniques, electronic imaging which includes working with current computer technology, digital photography, scanners, film assembly techniques, plate making, offset press techniques and bindery and finishing procedures. Workplace readiness skills of teamwork, communication, problem solving, positive work ethic and integrity are emphasized.
Graphic Imaging Technology II Credit: 2 Units; Offered Grade 12
Prerequisites: Graphic Communications I
Graphic Imaging Technology II provides the student with additional opportunities to gain advanced skills in layout and design, electronic imaging, film assembly, plate making, press operations, and bindery operations. Students who successfully complete both years of the course will be able to enter some phase of the graphics industry after graduation from high school. Workplace readiness skills of teamwork, communication, problem solving, positive work ethic and integrity are emphasized.
