Welcome to the Spotsylvania ES Library
“The library is a wonderful place to be if a person is curious.”From The Boy Who Was Raised by Librarians by Carla Morris
If you're curious... Who works in our library?
Mrs. Godshall is the librarian and Mrs. Farley is the library para-educator.
When can my student visit the library?
Classes visit our library once a week. During class visits students read, listen, talk and write. In addition, our library is open every school day for students to check out and return books.
What can students check out from our library?
Students may check out books, ebooks, and magazines.
How long can my student keep the items out?
Books and Magazines may be kept for 1 week. E-Books may be kept for ten days.
What if my student needs more time to finish reading the items?
Students simply renew their items by bringing them to the library or by telling Mrs. Godshall or Mrs. Farley that they want to renew. They may renew as long as another student does not have the item(s) on hold.
How does my student get a turn with a very popular item?
Students may put a book on hold - which means that when the item is returned, we will let them know that the item is ready for them.
How many items may my student have out from the library?
Kindergarten students check out one book at a time. Students in grades 1-4 may check out two books and one magazine out at a time. And new this year: 5th Grade students may have unlimited checkouts! Read here for additional information.
What is my student loses or damages a book?
We ask students to pay for lost or damaged materials.
