As we celebrate black history month we acknowledge our black women.  Being black is more than the color of your skin; it's about embracing who you really are and loving yourself. India Arie once said “I am not my hair, I am not my skin, nor am I your expectations. I AM the soul that lives within.”  This means that you cannot let people dictate or change who you are. Embrace yourself and know who you are.  Listen each morning to take the black history challenge starting Monday (prizes will be awarded).  And pay attention to the Black History Month bulletin board, currently under construction in the Social Studies hallway by the bus doors, to see your student nominees for “Black Excellence” as they are added each day.

Show your LOVE for CTE? Stop by any one of the wonderful CTE teachers to inquire about the classes they teach. If you have already registered for a CTE course next year, let them know and receive a Valentine's Day Treat. If you haven't signed up yet, NOT TO WORRY! There is still time! JOIN the CTE TEAM NOW! After all, Cupid would be out of work if he didn’t have a specialized skill!

Want to play Ultimate Frisbee in the spring? All those interested should attend the Pride Time meeting this Tuesday. Sign up to be called for the meeting in the Library or outside room 161.
