Are you tired of worrying about school work? Wanna take a break? Well NHS has the best thing for you. Attend the first annual Haunted House and Cinema on Oct 23 from 6pm-9pm. This events includes a haunted house from 6-7pm, then stay for a showing of Insidious at 7pm. Buy a ticket ahead of time for only $5 in the library. Hope to see you there!
The library is looking for a student or group of students to design a window display for Veterans Day. Please submit a design by October 30th. We'll supply all of the materials. You can be as creative as you want! The winning designer(s) will win a special goody bag.
Join us for the Homecoming Tailgate Friday October 18 from 5 – 7 PM in the parking lot near the baseball field! This is free and fun for all students! Please come by and get hyped up for the football game with games, food, and more from your MHS clubs.
Congratulations to the Marching Panther Pride on taking 1st Place in Percussion, 3rd Place in Color Guard, and 3rd Place in General Effect at the Stafford Showcase. Stick around after the homecoming game this Friday to see the MP2 as they perform their 2019 program "Wild Things"

For our new and returning swimmers: Massaponax Swim team information meeting will be in the library on October 17 during the pride time. Coach Hall will be there to go over the requirements and schedule.
This Thursday is Pajama Day. Do you know what goes great with a pair of pajamas? PURPLE! This Thursday is also a National Spirit Day to wear purple and speak out against bullying of the LGBT community. Show your support by adding purple to your pajama wardrobe Thursday!

Congratulations to Claire Jones for making the 2019 VMEA Senior honors Choir. Claire will participate in November with seniors from the state of Virginia at the Virginia Music Educators Conference in Hot Springs Virginia.
The Panther football team was victorious Friday against Riverbend 49-21. The Panthers are now 6-1 and 3-0 in the district. This Friday they take on Montainview at 7. Thanks to the huge crowd who made the trip to Riverbend.

They will be located outside the Counseling Office. Roanoke College will be here Oct 17 during Pride Time. They will be located in Lecture Hall A. Please sign up for these visits in the Counseling office.
ATTENTION STUDENTS: Do you ever feel like you are the only one who has trouble staying organized for school, or maybe you think you are never good enough or don't interact well with others, maybe you would like to have better relationships with your friends, family, relatives; perhaps you would like to talk about how to stay healthy emotionally or socially; or maybe you are a male and would like to talk over stuff that male high school students think about--then join one of the small groups that the counselors will be leading during Pride Time. Many times it helps to know that you are not alone in how you are feeling/thinking; thus being a part of a small group of students who feel the same as you do, can be very helpful. Give it a try!! The groups are: Social Skills, Self-Esteem, Organizational Skills, Healthy Relationships, Girls Group, Boys Group. If you are interested in joining a group, please see Ms. Miller, the counseling secretary to sign up.
Ponax Theatre is now holding auditions for its winter play, Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story. A twist on the classic tale, A Ghost Story is still a fun and exciting adventure about finding the true meaning of Christmas. The audition will be open to Faculty and Staff on October 14th at 2pm and Students on October 15th! after school For more information, see Mrs. Kemp, Mr. Singer, or Juptej Singh.

Attention Girls!! Would you like to get together with other girls and explore topics like: building your confidence, improving your self-esteem, goal setting, the path to success, relationships and friendships? Then come down to the counseling office to pick up a Consent Form. The workshops will be held during Pride Time and will be run by Ms. Whittney Kilgore, who is in the Army. The purpose of the workshops is to help girls reach their full potential and be the best they can be. See Ms. Marcil in the Counseling Dept. for a Consent Form.
