Principal:Dr. Sheila B. SmithDr. Smith has been a middle school educator for 34 years. She has served Spotsylvania County Schools for over 20 years as an intern, assistant principal, and as the principal of Battlefield Middle School for 17 years. Prior to working in Spotsylvania County, she taught middle school science and mathematics for 14 years.
Assistant Principal:Mrs. Stacey AdamsMrs. Adams is excited to join the Warriors this year as the Assistant Principal. She worked for 10 years in Stafford County teaching IB English, Leadership Development, and Learn and Serve and for 3 years in Culpeper County as the Testing, AP, and Remediation Coordinator. Aside from teaching, she has also served as SCA advisor and as an ESports coach. Mrs. Adams earned her Bachelor's Degree in English from Virginia Tech, her Master's Degree in English Education from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and her Post Master's Degree in Educational Leadershiop from the University of Mary Washington. Currently, she lives in Spotsylvania with her husband, Kipp, son Keegan, and two dogs, Bryce and Bella.Instructional Coordinator:Mrs. Theresa Harvey
Mrs. Harvey was born and raised in Spotsylvania County and is a proud graduate of Spotsylvania County Schools. She is serving her twenty-eighth year as an educator at Battlefield Middle School, where she taught seventh grade before becoming Instructional Coordinator. Mrs. Harvey completed her Bachelor's degree in Early and Middle Education at Radford University, earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University, and most recently completed an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Liberty University. Mrs. Harvey resides in Spotsylvania County with her husband and is a proud mom of two sons and a daughter.Administrative Intern:Mrs. Damaris BentonMrs. Benton was born in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Europe as a member of a military family. She has traveled much of the world and values the various people and cultures she's encountered. Mrs. Benton was an English teacher and coach at Chancellor High prior to coming to serve as the Administrative Intern at Battlefield Middle in February of 2020 and has taught 6-12 grades since beginning her career back in 2005. Mrs. Benton completed her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education & English at Temple University (in Philadelphia) and earned her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from George Mason University (in Fairfax.) Mrs. Benton is a resident of Spotsylvania County with her husband and two daughters.Counseling Director:Mrs. Michelle GermerothThis is Mrs. Germeroth's fourth year at Battlefield Middle School and she is excited to be working here as a Warrior. She has 19 years of experience as a school counselor and teacher from Caroline County Public Schools and Richmond City Public Schools. Mrs. Germeroth enjoys working with all students to help them be successful not only in the classroom, but outside in the community, as well. Mrs. Germeroth has two children, two dogs, a cat, and a turtle who keep her busy when she is not at school.Athletic Director:Mr. Henry ThodeMr. Thode grew up and attended Spotsylvania County Schools. He played football for and graduated from Bridgewater College in 2007. Mr. Thode went on to coach varsity high school sports for a decade, which included being a varsity assistant football coach and a varsity head track coach. Currently along with being the athletic director, Mr. Thode is the BSP teacher and current football and boys track coach at Battlefield Middle.

Take exit 126A (Massaponax). Merge onto Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Hwy) and go approximately .9 miles. Turn left onto Hood Drive. Turn left at the stoplight onto Route 208 (Courthouse Rd.) and go approximately 1.1 miles. Turn right on Leavells Rd and go approximately 1.5 miles. The school is on the left side of the road.
