Superintendent Award Winner

Our  Superintendent Award winner is Jerome Donfack from Spotsylvania Middle School. He is a seventh grade student. His art teacher is Ramona Morris. His artwork is hanging in the Superintendent's office the month of May.

Virginia School Boards Association Art Contest 

This year, SCPS had winners place at each level of the Northeastern Regional level. Our winners are as
follows: Elementary: Carleigh Menzie, Riverview ES, art teacher Anne Flues. She also won 3rd Place in the Northeastern
Regional Level Art show.

Middle School: Anika Tosh, MS, art teacher Ramona Morris. She also won 2nd place in the Northeastern Regional Level Art show.

High School: Chris Pleasant, Riverbend HS, art teacher Gerry Mann. He also won 1st place in the Northeastern Regional Level Art show. His art will be framed and displayed in the offices of the VSBA in
Charlottesville and the Richmond offices of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction.

 Music in SCPS

 Our Blue Ribbon Schools of Music 

Three SCPS schools have earned the designation of "Blue Ribbon School of Music" for 2016-2017! This is the highest honor for a music department in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Congratulations to Freedom MS, Thornburg MS, and Chancellor HS students and music directors.

Theatre in SCPS

First Spotsylvania Forensics Invitational 

Chancellor and Massaponax High School Forensics Teams congratulations on competing in the 102nd VHSL Forensics Champoionship on March 25. SCPS has four new State Championships (Miranda Wood, Caitline Woodford, Reilly Cooper, and Caroline Mork from Massaponax HS and several 2nd and 3rd place winners from both schools. Theatre directors are Kimberly Kemp and Matthew Armentrout.
