Superintendent Award Winner

March’s Superintendent winner is pasting is Maya Jani. Maya is in Fifth grade at Chancellor Elementary School. Her art teacher is Caitlin Lofaro. We would like Maya and Mrs. Lofaro to come forward and be recognized for this outstanding accomplishment

Central Rappannock Regional Library Art Award

For 22 years and counting, Central Rappannock Regional Library has provided a forum for area teen artists in grades 9-12 to be recognized for their talent during a month long display at its Headquarters Library in Fredericksburg. We would like to congratulate our SCPS student winner’s; 

11th & 12th Category; from Massaponax High School
  • Best in Show: Anna Tippett (guaranteed solo show at library next year)

  • 2nd Place: Calista Reiken

  • Honorable mention: Sarah Whitley

  • Honorable mention: Ananda Hale

  • Honorable mention: Reina Hammer

  • Honorable mention: Krysti Muccia


9th & 10th grade division:

  • 2nd place: Serena McGowan

In 11th & 12th Category; from Chancellor High School

Theatre in SCPS

First Spotsylvania Forensics Invitational 

First SCPS Forensics Invitational  
Chancellor, Riverbend, and  Massaponax High School participated in the first annual Spotsylvania Forensics Invitational held at Chancellor High School on Tuesday, January 31. Congratulations to the teams who participated in  Virginia High School League conference tournaments on Tuesday, February 7th.
  

Music Department

All State Chorus participants - Congratulations to Riverbend High School students Krystina Stinson and Zachary Short on your selection to Virginia All-State Choir! Krystina and Zachary were chosen at a competitive audition involving students from District 15 and will now have the opportunity to participate in the Virginia All-State event this April. Their music director is Wendy Green.

 

All-VA Choir - Congratulations to Massaponax High School  student Brandi Chew and Andrew Breivik for making first alternate for the All-VA Choir. Their music director is Shannon Forry.

 

All State Choir – Congratulations to Chancellor High School students Ben Ransom and Sophie Horn for being selected by audition for All State Choir! Congratulations also to alternates Mia Jackson, Eric Velez, Chris Jones and Kimball Roberts! Their music director is Rhonda Miller.

 

National Honor Choir - Congratulations to Ben Ransom for being selected for National Honor Choir. Ben traveled to Minneapolis, Minnesota in March to participate in the choir under the direction of the renowned composer and conductor, Eric Whitacre.
