Meet the Principal, Mrs. LewterOver twenty years ago, I was blessed to initially enter Lee Hill Elementary as a second
grade teacher and now my journey within our school division has brought me back to the
Lion Nation. I am honored to watch our children learn and grow on a daily basis as well as
to lead a dedicated team of educators focused on helping our students succeed.
I am a proud third generation educator hailing from Urbanna, Virginia. I attended Virginia
Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia where I earned a Bachelor of Science
degree in Mass Communication and also played basketball for the Lady Rams. Initially, I
enjoyed a career set in the advertising world; however, the call of being in education could
not go unanswered. I obtained licensure requirements through Christopher Newport
University and returned to Virginia Commonwealth University years later to earn my Master
Throughout my twenty-plus years in education, my classroom experiences have been in
several public school systems (Middlesex County, Gloucester County, and Spotsylvania
County). I have taught first through fifth grade, coached basketball at the high school level
and been an administrator at Courtland Elementary (AP) and Wilderness Elementary
Being surrounded by family and friends is very important to me. My husband, John, and I
currently reside here in Spotsylvania County and have two amazing daughters. Mattie (21)
is currently a seniorjunior at VCU and Grace (13) attends Thornburg Middle. We are avid
sports fans and enjoy going to any beach.
I look forward to working together as we travel the magical journey of learning!
Meet the Assistant Principal, Mrs. Hall
I am thrilled to be a part of the Lion Nation here at Lee Hill Elementary School. Building a strong community of learners is the heart of my passion as an educator and school leader. My priority as your assistant principal is to serve our children and school community with energy, enthusiasm, and excellence. I am honored and blessed to join such a dedicated faculty and staff.
My journey in education began eighteen years ago after graduating from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2004, I earned my National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. I attended the University of Mary Washington for graduate school where I earned my Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Supervision.
I served as a third grade teacher in Henrico County for ten years before transferring to Spotsylvania County Schools in 2009. Over the past seven years, I have served Spotsylvania County Schools in various capacities as a third grade teacher and summer school administrator at Cedar Forest Elementary and Interim Administrative Intern at Livingston Elementary.
Time with family and friends is a special gift and one that I cherish each day. My husband, Mike, and I have two wonderful children, Preston (5th grade) and Madison (4th grade). We enjoy soccer, swimming, and playing with our dogs. When I’m not at school, I love reading, traveling, and meeting new people.
I believe that everyone has a purpose and a story to share with others. I look forward to learning the many stories of our students, staff, and community as we celebrate our Paw Pride together!
