Frequently Asked Questions
* What do I need to register my child?
You will need to bring your child's original birth certificate and 2 proofs of residency (one proof must be a lease, mortgage or contract papers, the second, a current utility bill, voter registration card or auto registration). A physical and shot record is required before any child can begin school.
* How early can I drop off my child? What time is dismissal?
For your child's safety, please do not drop off students prior to 8:20 a.m. when supervision begins.
Student dismissal begins at 3:25 pm. Any dismissal prior to 3:20 will be marked on attendance.
* What is the policy regarding birthday celebrations?
Parents are allowed to bring in a treat for students. Food items must be nut-safe and checked by the school nurse prior to distribution. Please make arrangements with your child's teacher prior to bringing in treats. Birthday party invitations cannot be distributed in the classroom.
* What if my child loses something?
The lost and found is located between the office and gym. Please remember to label your child's jacket, lunch box and other personal items to prevent lost items.
* What if I want my child to go home by an alternate method?
Please send a note to the child's teacher that includes the date(s), child's name, teacher's name, name and address of person/student they are going home with and a phone number where you can be reached in case of questions. Students will not be allowed to ride a different bus without written permission.
* What if my child is going to be absent?
If you know in advance your child is going to be absent, please send a note to the teacher. If an absence is unexpected due to illness or an emergency, please call the main office (540) 972-3870 as soon as possible.
