Mr. Scott Belako

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at Post Oak Middle School. I am excited to continue to serve the POMS Patriot community as principal for this outstanding school and community!  Prior to joining the Post Oak Middle School Team in 2017, I served as principal of Ni River Middle School. I also served as a principal and assistant principal in Caroline County, Virginia and taught for nine years in Stafford County, Virginia. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Master’s Degree from the University of Mary Washington and completed coursework as a newly appointed administrator at Virginia Tech. My family and I have lived in Virginia for the past nineteen years. My wife is in education and my three children are Spotsylvania County Public School students.

Our mission here at Post Oak School is to equip all of our Patriots with the essential 21st Century Skills to prepare them for a smooth transition to high school and to be successful in their future endeavors. Students will be challenged daily and engaged with hands-on learning that is differentiated to meet their individual learning needs. Post Oak Middle School’s Core Values are directly aligned with Virginia’s 5 C’s – Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, and Citizenship.  Our staff will work in partnership with our school community to provide our students with learning opportunities that prepare them for their futures in alignment with the Profile of a Virginia Graduate.

A successful school community requires communication and collaboration amongst students, teachers, staff, and parents. I encourage all parents to be actively involved here at Post Oak Middle School. Please take time to join the Post Oak PTO and volunteer to assist within the school community. I look forward to working with each of you this school year.

Mr. Jeremy Siefker

It is exciting to be starting my 6th year as Post Oak Assistant Principal. It’s been a pleasure to get to know the community and I look forward to seeing the first group of students I got to know graduate from Spotsylvania High School this year.

I grew up on a dairy farm in the small agricultural community near Kalida, Ohio. After graduating from the College of Wooster with a Biology degree, I began teaching middle school science. I obtained my teaching license through the Spotsylvania County Schools Career Switcher Program and completed my Masters in Educational Leadership through Mary Washington University. For Spotsylvania County Schools, I’ve had the privilege to teach Middle School Math and Science as well as some History. I was an Administrative Intern for a year and I filled in for Assistant Principals at Post Oak, Battlefield, Thornburg, and Freedom Middle Schools for various lengths of time. I also spent 2 years facilitating the Summer Enrichment program and 2 years as Spotswood Elementary Assistant Principal.

My wife is a Veterinarian at Spotsylvania Animal Hospital and I have 4 children named Emma, Jeremy, Charles, and Grace. Personally I enjoy watching baseball and I’ve followed the Chicago Cubs since I was a kid. My family enjoys taking our Great Dane dogs out on the battlefields for weekend nature walks.

I look forward to continuing to get to know and work with students and families at Post Oak as we begin introducing Guided Instructional practices. Feel free to call or email me for any questions or suggestions.
