A Note From the Principal:

  • Dear Cedar Forest Families,

Welcome back!  We are so excited to kick-off the 2019-2020 school year.  It is exciting to meet all of our new students and see our returning students back in the building.  I hope that everyone had a wonderful and relaxing summer and are now ready for a new school year of learning and growing.  I am so delighted that you are part of our learning community, and I look forward to working with you and your children this year.

Personally, I am grateful to continue this journey with you as your Principal.  Over the past year, I had the chance to meet many of you and your children, and I look forward to continuing to build a strong relationship with each of you this year.  For those of you who have not met me, this will be my 12th year in education.  I was a music teacher for 7 years before entering administration, and this will be my second year serving as the Principal at Cedar Forest.  I am very excited to continue to work together with you to make this a wonderful school year.

Our devoted staff has been planning and preparing for the return of our students, and we are looking forward to another incredible year.  All teachers and support staff have been preparing materials, and creating amazing work spaces for our students.  Our PTO has been a huge support to our school, and helped us bring new programs into our building that will support student success.

Community involvement is a key component to the success of our students.  We invite everyone to be a part of our school community.  We welcome volunteers and hope that you will take advantage of the opportunities available to you.  These include supporting classrooms, attending events, chaperoning, and more.  Please contact your child’s teacher for ways to become involved in the classroom.  You play a critical role in our success.  Please help us support your child’s academic success by:

ü  Making attendance a priority, please limit tardies, early dismissals and absences

ü  Checking ParentVue to stay informed of your student’s progress

ü  Reading with your student for 20 minutes each day

Please know that I have an open door policy, and welcome any opportunity to meet with you.  Stop by and say hello!  We are looking forward to working together to ensure our students have an amazing year.

    Warmest Regards,

    Allison Langridge
