Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year!  On September 8, we will begin a new year with almost 24,000 students entering our schools.   Talented and dedicated teachers, leaders and support staff are eager to engage and inspire students so that they will develop skills and knowledge that prepare them to be successful in the future.

The SCPS Strategic Plan focuses on three primary goals:

    1.     Teaching and Learning

ALL students will graduate college and career ready

    2.     Communication and Community Engagement

Family, students, staff and the entire community actively engage to seek resources and to develop opportunities that meet future educational challenges and workforce needs

    3.     Organizational Climate and School Safety

The learning and working environment is safe, caring, healthy and values diversity

Building on our current culture of collaboration and teamwork is a key to our success.  It is through open communication and active partnerships between students, teachers, parents, businesses, and the community that our students will have access to significant, life-enriching learning experiences.

I encourage you to continue to be or become actively involved in our school division and your particular school community.  The SCPS mission is not a collection of words, but rather a revelation that our students benefit most profoundly through the work we do “together”.  I invite you to join SCPS in our journey to achieve greatness as evidenced by the learning and achievement of our students.

Together, we prepare our students for their future!

    Sincerely,
