Here are some reminders for a happy and healthy school year:
Students should have a full breakfast before the school day begins.
Students are forbidden to carry prescription medications and over the counter medications while at school without written consent from their health care provider. This includes cough drops, herbal remedies, tylenol, motrin, lotions, powders or any other item that may be considered medications.
As the flu season approaches please encourage your children to drink plenty of fluids, get a good nights rest and teach them to wash their hands thoroughly and often through out the day.
As the weather changes, have your children dress appropriately and in layers as fall often brings inconsistent temperatures. Flip flops should be not be worn at school, nor should any shoe that can slip off easily during physical activity.
Please keep your child home for illness that presents with a fever, vomiting or diarrhea for a full 24 hours after symptoms improve. Your child must be fever free for 24 hours after using a fever reducing medication before returning to school. If your child develops a fever while at school, you will be asked to keep your child home until fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.
