Mr. Scott Belako

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Post Oak Middle School. I am excited to continue to serve the POMS Patriot community as principal!  Prior to joining the Post Oak Middle School Team in 2017, I served as principal of Ni River Middle School. I also served as a principal and assistant principal in Caroline County, Virginia and taught for nine years in Stafford County, Virginia. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Master’s Degree from the University of Mary Washington and completed coursework as a newly appointed administrator at Virginia Tech. I have also served as a Regional Representative for the Virginia Association of Curriculum and Development.  My family and I have lived in Virginia for the past twenty years. My wife is in education and my three children are Spotsylvania County Public School students.

Our mission here at Post Oak School is to equip all of our Patriots with the essential 21st Century Skills to prepare them for a smooth transition to high school and to be successful in their future endeavors. Students will be challenged daily and engaged with hands-on learning that is differentiated to meet their individual learning needs. Post Oak Middle School’s Core Values are directly aligned with Virginia’s 5 C’s – Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, and Citizenship.  Our staff will work in partnership with our school community to provide our students with learning opportunities that prepare them for their futures in alignment with the Profile of a Virginia Graduate.

A successful school community requires communication and collaboration amongst students, teachers, staff, and parents. I encourage our families to be actively involved here at Post Oak Middle School. Please take time to join the Post Oak PTO and volunteer to assist within the school community. I look forward to working with each of you this school year.

Mr. Jeremy Siefker

I am ecstatic to continue to serve Post Oak Middle as Assistant Principal for the 2020-21 school year!  As for family, my wife Katherine and I are blessed with 4 children named Emma, Jay, Charles, and Grace. Personally, I enjoy watching my children play sports and my family loves interacting with nature by hiking trails around Virginia.

Prior to becoming an educator, I developed a hard work ethic growing up on a dairy farm in a small agricultural community near Kalida, Ohio. After graduating from the College of Wooster with a degree in Biology, I had the privilege to teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students Science and Math over a 10 year period.  My life-long learning journey continued with earning a Masters Degree in Leadership and Supervision from the University of Mary Washington in 2009.

As Post Oak Middle School’s Assistant Principal, I am pleased to help implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) throughout the school along with Guided Instructional practices as a backbone for student learning.  Our school-wide focus on student literacy has helped Post Oak achieve full accreditation status!  As an avid reader, it is gratifying to pass on a passion for reading to a future generation of Patriots!

I look forward to serving students and families at Post Oak as we continue to implement 21st Century Workplace Readiness Skills this school year.   Feel free to call or email me for any questions or suggestions.
