Spotsylvania County Public Schools COVID-19 Dashboard

  • The purpose of the SCPS COVID-19 Dashboard is to provide our families and staff with a transparent summary of COVID-19 cases. The weekly update indicates the number of new cases where a student or staff member has tested positive or presumed positive for an active COVID-19 infection for the specific week. Individuals who test positive are excluded from participation in any in-person/on-campus activity until the school nurse verifies that the individual meets the return criteria set by the Virginia Department of Health.

On February 25, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) made changes to mask wearing protocols referencing hospitalization numbers due to COVID-19 rather than the number of cases. The CDC has made these changes as a result of the continued downward trend; vaccines, boosters, and tests being widely available; health providers having effective treatments, and many people having some immunity to the virus due to vaccination or previous infections.

When the community level is high (orange), CDC and VDH recommend wearing a mask indoors in public, regardless of the vaccination status or individual risk. Currently, Spotsylvania County is in the medium level. For additional considerations regarding the community levels low (green) and medium (yellow) please reference the CDC’s website at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/community-levels.html.
